Chapter 11

645 Words
POV-Mystique, age 20 December 24 "Christy, are you ready with your gifts?" I holler from the living room, ready to leave for the airport. Christy has spent over half an hour taping the ultrasound pictures over gifts for my family and hers to announce her pregnancy. She feels it is the perfect way to do it, and I know better than to argue with her hormonal self.  "Yeah, I'm done." She says and comes out of her room,  wearing the same Harry Potter shirt and jeans she had been wearing when she came here. "Sure, let's go then. The flight leaves in an hour and half." I say to her with a smile which expresses my emotions. We walk to the Main Street and hail a cab to the airport. During the cab ride, she blabbers on and on about baby names and the nursery of the babies and the kind of clothes she'll dress them in. She seems so happy and excited about them, her panic and nerves all forgotten. I listen to all of it patiently, my stomach flipping over and over again, but I try my best not to let my sadness show on my face. We arrive at the airport around half an hour later, and were out of airport security just in time for the plane's arrival.   We get to our seats in Economy Class, where a whole myriad of people meets our eyes. A little boy, about seven years old, roaming around with a chocolate bar. A baby crying at the top of her voice. The mother of the previously mentioned seven year old who was chasing him and trying to coax him to sit. An old lady who was reading a very old and worn out copy of 'Wuthering Heights' and various people of all ages who were wearing headphones, trying to block out the insanity going on out here.  We put our luggage in the overhead compartments and I notice that Christy's hand is shaking. I take it in mine to reassure her, just to notice that it is cold and sweaty. She is so nervous that the babies will grow up without their grandparents, but she knows that they will never lack the love of grandparents, because the Jenkinses-Watsons will always support her. That's my family. The pilot turns on the'wear seat belt' sign and the plane takes off. After a while, the sign goes off and stewardesses bring carts of food and juice by. I feel that drinking some water would calm Christy down, so I hand her a bottle of water from the cart that the stewardess brings by. She takes a few gulps and reclines against her seat. Then, her eyes suddenly widen, and she runs off in the direction of the bathroom. Her sickness kicked in. She was lucky that she had pulled her hair in a ponytail, as usual, and it didn't get chunks in it. She got exhausted from throwing up, and slept for the remainder of the trip. I couldn't do so, I was just as nervous as she was, for I was going to see HIM after two whole months, again. Christian Gabriel Mason. My everything when I was a kid. Till last year. Still my everything. It is pathetic to love someone who doesn't love and respect you in return, but my heart wants what it wants. And it wants a stronzo who trampled all over my heart after giving me promises of forever. So, I am determined to stay mad at him. I didn't even buy him a gift. Except for the cookies that I made. Well, think of me as a junkie in detox. I will get over him step by step, in small amounts. Because I had loved him for over a decade. See how I said loved?  It's in the past, I promise.
