49 Stumbling in the dark, Rachel tried to catch herself and banged her elbow on a nearby tree. She held in the whimper of pain while she fought a funny feeling in her stomach. She was so scared, her whole body vibrated and her breath wheezed at the edges. But she knew that feeling, that sense that the ground was not quite where she expected it… Are you there? Did you come back? The Other One probably couldn’t answer, but she could tell he was there. And she felt a little less alone.
