Chapter 1.
Bullies in General
April POV
I stumbled to my knees, trying to crawl for cover before another kick could fall in my stomach. My legs trembled as I hit the ground. With a sly smile on her face, Penelope dashed towards me, and before I knew it, I was lying on the ground.
I felt such a terrible grief that my stomach was on fire, and my lower lips trembled as tears squeezed against the backs of my eyelids. I forced the knot in my throat to leave because two of Penelope's pals, Brianna and Hailey, were standing behind her with a rod that was clearly intended for me.
As I came to terms with the fact that the iron rod would pierce my delicate skin, tears sparkled in my eyes. Penelope gave me a wicked little smile and shook her head at me, showing me how much she despised me.
She c****d her head to the left and walked slowly in my direction.
April, what prompted you to report to your instructor that we were bullying you?
I take it that you also mentioned to the professors that we were pressuring you to turn in our assignments? I clenched my hands and cried out for help while painfully biting the corner of my lower lip. Tears sparkled in my eyes.
"Why are you not speaking?" She smirked and slapped hard; the sound reverberated around the room.
I squeezed my cheeks firmly, letting the tears that were going to fall run down my face and only despair come out of me. Penelope groaned and looked at her watch.
Do the girls still think we have enough time to finish this? She must endure all of this, and tonight they must force her to depart wounded. She has to be corrected and made to understand that she is a worthless omega.
Eleanor continued to blow bubbles while holding her gum in her mouth. Simultaneously, Eleanor and Brianna crossed their hands over their chests and echoed, "Yes."
I winced at the sound of the rod falling out of Eleanor's hand. She fell to her knees in front of me and peeled the gum off, a tiny smile forming at the corner of her mouth. She gripped my jaw tightly, her face engulfed in mine.
She slipped the chewing gum she had been using the entire time into my mouth. She kissed me gently on the face after completing her task.
"I will treat you kindly as long as you do not scream, so do not fear, garbage bag. Have you forgotten that, unlike you, other objects do not cry, complain, or whine? It is terrible that they simply accept their suffering as a part of who they are. Eleanor reached for the rod and began tugging at my hair.
"I assure you that it will not cause you much pain." With an ear-to-ear grin, I took a big breath.
She rose up, caressed her brown hair, and let out a fit of giggles at the blonde Penelope who was standing behind her. Her smile vanished the instant she turned to face me, and I knew that hell was about to open.
I clamped my eyes tight, ready to meet a miserable death, as she raised her hand and firmly grasped the rod.
Simultaneously with the startling sound of the rods falling, there was the unexpected sound of phones beeping throughout the empty building. I opened my eyes as my phone vibrated in my pocket as well.
"Oh my!" At the same moment, all three of them gasped. "We are celebrating our reunion with a party." Penelope sounded rather content.
"Is it suggesting that Beacon Hill will be resuming classes?" Brianna appeared pallid.
"I think so. We also received an invitation to the celebration! The good news has arrived. Penelope grinned.
They all leapt into the air and dashed out of the abandoned building, squealing with delight. I blinked a couple of times, trying to understand what on earth they were talking about when they said that the three strongest Packs, who had been at war, had merged.
I let out a groan as I forced myself to stand up straight and inhaled deeply from the agony those three cretins had inflicted upon me. They belonged to one of Rocket City's strongest Packs.
However, the three other packs in the city were far more strong than the Grey Moon pack, to which they belonged. the Crimson Pack, Moon Shadow Pack, and Night Walker Pack.
Other notable members of other packs regarded me like an omega, treating me like I belonged in the most dominant pack in the city, the Moon Shadow Pack.
Even the Alpha and Luna, who took me in only to work me to death, continued to tell me how useless I was till the sun rose every day.
Their treatment of me was that of a slave, with the only perks being food and other necessities and the opportunity to attend one of the city's top schools. I tried to move, wiping tears from my eyes with the back of my palm, since I felt like every part of me was breaking apart. As I started to walk forward, my phone started to vibrate within my sweatshirt pocket. I sighed in discomfort as I brushed the hair from my face that had fallen behind my ears.
I removed my phone from my pocket and sighed in frustration at how badly the screen had broken. My eyes nearly erupted out of their sockets when I squinted to see the text message on my phone—it was from Jane, the Luna.
"You stupid person! How is your situation right now? The text said, "When are you going to come home so you can get ready for the three tiny ones?" Oh, the Luna, how I hated her.
