Diana gasped taking a step back as the knife made its way right towards her chest but before it could’ve reached her, something held on to Maria’s wrist, stopping her from attacking Diana. Maria’s wrist was jerked sideway, pulling the knife along with it. Diana’s heart pounded loudly inside her chest as she felt her entire soul shaken up by what was about to happen to her. She gulped, swallowing the dry lump of air that quenched her throat, leaving her parched and bewildered. She followed the sight of the knife and traced the hand that held Maria’s wrist. She moved her eyes up the strong muscular arm and found Adrian to be the one standing right in front of Maria, holding her wrist firmly in his palm that was fisted around her wrist bone. “What the hell do you think you are doing?”
