NIKKI
I woke up to the rays of the light shining on my face. I stretched out the stiffness I felt, and got up quickly.
I looked at the time, to my surprise, I have just two hours before my interview. I'm doomed! Can I make it???
I rushed to the bathroom to brush my teeth and take my bath. I dressed up in a navy blue skirt that is just above the knee and matching white top. Which is well tucked in. Followed by a matching pair of heels. I fixed my hair and I was ready to go.
I rushed downstairs to have a quick breakfast. I gathered the document required for the interview and I picked up my hand bag.
I picked my car keys and went straight to the door. When I was outside, I took in a little fresh air and allow the breeze to blow on my face for a minute.
I needed to get to the venue now and fast. I rushed down the walk way. I was in a hurry, but I didn't take note of someone coming my way. I bumped into that person.
All my carefully arranged documents were all over the place. I was very angry. Although, I know I was also at fault. But, I won't accept just an apology. Why can't such person watch where they were heading.
I know the person tried to help, but I refused. As I gathered my documents, I kept scolding the person. Although, I have no idea who the person was.
After I gathered my documents, I stood up to look at the person in the eyes, with the aim of doing the final scolding, but I was silent. Realization hit me.
The person I scolded all along was....OMG.. Word are not enough to describe him. He's just....so perfect. I'll describe him as quickly as I can.
He's tall, he had Bright eyes with grey colour. His hair has the same color as his eyes. He's hair was styled and made him look cool.
As a sweat dropped from his forehead, I followed it's direction. Speaking of his posture, he's fit. He had the perfect body.
My eyes went back to his face and there was a moment of silence I think would last forever. It then occurred to me I had to apologise. I was at fault too.
As he stared at me intensely, it made my heart skip a bit. I think this is what is called love at first sight. As I was about to speak up, he left hastily. What a guy!
I watched his back till it disappeared from sight. Then I realized I had to get to my interview soon.
I rushed to the parking lot forgetting about what just happened. I hurried to my car, settled in and drove off. I need to get there early.
As I stood in front of the company, I admired it. It was...so clean, beautiful and neat. It's massive and it's a 12 storey building. A lot of people were there.
I needed to do my best . I fixed my hair and my dress quickly before stepping into the reception. I found a free corner, I walked towards it as soon as I spotted one. stood with my back resting on the wall to relax a bit with my documents at hand. I was nervous. I revised my answers and checked my documents carefully to make sure, I had the right ones.
I checked the time and we had just 30 minutes left. This is it Nikki. What you waited for your whole life. Don't blow this chance. Opportunity comes, but once.
I started to pray and wished my self best of luck. Just as I got a little to calm, I saw people gathering right in front of the building door. I rushed over. They might be passing an important message. It was.
' Hello everyone. My name is James. I'm the vice president of this company. I'm here to pass an information, which I got directly from the CEO.
He mentioned to be a little bit late today. The interview would be delayed a little. The boss is always on time, but I think something came up.
I hope you guys can be patient and sit quietly and orderly at the reception, while you wait for the interview. Thank you '
I went into the reception and found a sit far from the other. I tried to remain calm and as well presentable.
I noticed a CCTV watching everyone. I tried to pretend not to know, by just remaining quiet as I scrolled through my phone.
After about 5 minutes, the vice president came back to us. Most people were just chit chatting, laughing which seems they had a wonderful time.
He walked up to the front of the sits, he stared intensely at all of us as everyone rushed to settle down. He was going to say some things. Which is very important.
'Hello everyone. We meet again. Here with me is a box full of papers with or without a number written on it. The numbers are from 1 to 30. Please pick a paper out of the box and settled back in your sits.
If you have a number written on your paper, please move to the left side of the reception. Thank you... Those without number, kindly leave.
We really appreciate your time here. Thank you for coming. Those of you with numbers please be settled. The interview would begin anytime from now.
Note that, anyone who does not answer once called would immediately be eliminated. Thank you.'
As I picked my paper and walked back to my seat. I hesitated to check it. I built up my courage to check it, and I did. I was lucky enough.
I was the number 24, out of the 30 people out here today. I moved to the left side as we were told and I found a seat that was far enough from the others but close enough for me to hear when my name is being called.
A lot of people were already eliminated even before the commencement of the interview as the don't have a number. I'm grateful to God.
Normally, we ought to have started the interview but we are far behind time. I tried to relax as I sunk into my seat.
The interview began, and my turn to be interviewed seems close as every minute passed. My heart wouldn't stop beating hard! With the blink of an eye, I heard my name being called. I froze on my sit.
' Nikki Anderson, please report to the interview room '.
I came to my senses soon enough, then, I stood up picking my bag and documents with me, then walked towards the staff who would direct me to the interview room. This is it Nikki! The moment I've waited for all my life.
When I entered the room, I kept my eyes on the ground and walked forward slowly. I reached my sit, but I waited to be invited to sit. Then I did, after I was allowed.
I consider it as respect. I gathered all the courage I had to look up to my questionnaire to hand over my documents , but what I saw next kept my mouth agape. OMG!
