Next Night...

The mating ceremony commenced, and every young female werewolf of age were blessed with dominant male wolves as a mate. Mira stood behind Alpha jagger refusing to take part in the ceremony. Without Ryder, she did feel like a lost wolf wandering without a course.

"Please father, don't do this to Ryder. He would never endanger the lives of our people". She defended again for the 20th time since early morning.

Alpha Jagger steadily ignored her and walked away again.

"The forest, the forest is in danger Alpha. They're getting closer". An omega ran up to him losing more breath as he spoke.

"Gather our people."Alpha Jagger responded and turned to do his part in protecting his people.

Mira's eyes widened immediately after she heard the omega. She whispered Ryder's name before speeding away.

"Ryder, Ryder you there? Ryder." Mira yelled mind-linking him but didn't get any response.

"Oh no! Ryder, can you hear me. Please answer me" She yelled again but was immediately shot in the forearm with a riffle bullet from afar.

She halted as soon as the bullet pierced through her skin and her eyes immediately turned yellow, while her fangs were exposed as she howled in pain surprised by the sudden change in a transformation that she wasn't controlling.

"Wolfsbane" Mira whispered to herself and fell to the floor before passing out.

"Got one," Victoria Scott, Kate's mother yelled striding out from her hiding place to check on the wolf. "This one's gonna lead us to its people."And gently picked up Mira on her shoulders.

EARLIER/ Last Night...

"Ryder, you can't leave, please. I'll try to convince your father, so please stay, "Mira called running to catch up with him.

Ryder turned, "A hunter saw me, Mira, isn't that clear that I endangered our people?"And asked.

"No, it wasn't your fault but a mistake. What do you intend to do all alone when you leave? Go look for a new pack?. You've never taken a life before, so how do you intend to protect yourself from hunters out there. Stay with me Ryder and hide somewhere unknown for now till I convince your father. I promise I'll be back with good news okay."Mira retorted and before Ryder could utter another word, she sped off as she wasn't willing to hear another word he had to say. Ryder heaved deeply and began walking for he knew just exactly where he would stay and maybe await Mira.

"Arrrrgggh" Mira screamed, her eyes turned yellow and her claws became sharper but she couldn't do anything to those who were hurting her because she was being chained to an extent she couldn't move.

"What a fierce one. The look in her eyes, it's frightening if I must say."Lydia, Kate's aunt said.

"We need to clear the wolfsbane before it reaches her heart, else we won't be able to make her talk," Kathleen said and walked towards the table to fetch a lighter.

She headed back and came closer to Mira, "It's gonna hurt a lot" and lit it up.

"Careful Kate, we don't want this monster turning you into a werewolf," Lydia said and nodded looking at kate.

Mira yelled out again, this time, a more painful one as her bullet wound was being burnt with a lighter. She growled loudly her head facing the ceiling as the pain surged through her body.

"We got their location dad. They know we're coming so we need to hurry before we lose them all." Kathleen said and grab her arrow along with her mom and aunt.

"Just how much did she say?"Gerard asked following behind his wife."She said so much, Kate did do a good job forcing the truth outta her."

"Just so you know brother, she really takes after me," Lydia said and smiled looking at kate.

Still chained, she felt weak and unable to struggle with the chains being used on her. Mira was slowly dying as a result of another wolfsbane she had been given. This time, it was injected inside her body and her heart was slowly failing her.

"Ryder, can you hear me? I need you Ryder" She said almost in a whisper trying to mind link him again, but still, not a single word was heard from him.

Ryder forced his eyes opened and rapidly turned to look around while breathing hard and fast.

"Ryder, where are you please"He heard Mira's voice mind-linking him. "Mira, what's going on. Are you okay?"Ryder asked with urgency in a confused state.

"Oh Ryder, you need to run, run as fast as you can. The Hunters, they're coming for everyone."

"What? Where the hell are you, Mira I can't leave without you"He retorted, standing up on his feet. " I'll come to you Mira, so tell me where you are".

"I'm fine Ryder, just go. Our pack needs to be protected first and your father thinks you're somewhere safe already, so leave." Making use of the last strength she had, she yelled at him. "I'll come find you later, I promise" And immediately ended the mind link for she knew she had lesser time. Feeling immense pain, Mira coughed out blood and growled painfully as the wolfsbane was getting closer to her heart.

He had to believe her, and so he began running. Ryder didn't fail to look back as he ran with speed making the dried leaves follow behind him.

Still walking, Kathleen continued torturing herself frightened she had killed a young wolf about her age, her first kill was supposed to make her feel great just like her aunt always said, but she felt awful and disappointed.

"Let's all split up. Some of these creatures might be out in the woods and we can't miss any."Lydia inferred after making a halt. All eyes turned to stare at Kate.

Kate looked back at them, presuming they were likely worried about her. "I'll be fine, got everything I need right here," she said.

Heading to the left, she prepared her arrow for she needed to aim quickly at the slightest movement to be heard.

Walking for a longer time, she heard his movement and rapidly aimed her arrow in his direction. Even with his speed which had slowed down a bit, Ryder fell down as the arrow pierced his left leg. He growled silently trying not to attract the attention of the hunter who had shot him and began climbing the huge tree closer to him for safety.

Kate headed towards his direction to check where her arrow landed, but there was no sign of the arrow of any wounded wolf. She heaved in happiness at the thought that she didn't kill another wolf again and turned to leave when a liquid substance fell on her face.

"Blood?"Kathleen questioned herself and lifted her head to see where it came from, but before she could scream, Ryder rushed at her and covered up her mouth to prevent her from screaming.

While battling so hard to free herself, Kathleen was able to snatch a syringe of wolfsbane and strongly injected it into his arm. In pain, Ryder growled with his eyes turning RED instead and feeling a sudden transformation in his body as he felt he had suddenly been bestowed with a great power, he opened his jaws and immediately gave her a painful bite on her shoulders, and scratched her deeply to prevent her from attacking him further.
