"So you only said those things so that your brother wouldn't kill me?" We had been sitting in the little motel room for at least an hour. He had been explaining everything from beginning to end and I had sat there, silent, listening cautiously. "Yes, but if you haven't followed me in the first place, none of this would've happened." I stared at him in disbelief, one eyebrow raised. "Oh, so now you're basically implying that this is all my fault?" He looked confused for a moment before groaning in frustration. "No! Of course not Soph. Why can't you just believe that I was trying to protect you?" I climbed off the bed, turning my back towards him. I didn't want him to see the tears in my eyes. "Because you have been lying to me from the start. How would I ever know if you're lying to me right now?" His arms wrapped around my waist as he kissed my shoulder softly. "Because I love you Sophia and I would never try to intentionally hurt you." I spun around, staring at him with utter shock. "Y-You love me?" He smiled at me lovingly before pecking my lips. "Of course." he gently traced his thumb over my cheek as he cupped my cheek. I breathed in deeply, biting my bottom lip. "Okay, I have a plan, but you might not like it..."

"What?! Are you crazy? No! I will not let you go through with this." He crossed his arms over his chest, looking like a stubborn little child. Except this little child had gorgeous muscular arms. I quickly blinked, snapping out of the trance his muscles put me in. No Sophia. Focus! Ignore his Greek god-like beauty. I looked up at him, determination in my eyes. "I have to do this, Max. It's the only way." He shook his head. "No it's not and no, yo don't have to." I smiled sadly at him and placed my hand on his cheek. He closed his eyes, leaning into my touch. "Please don't go." he whispered into my palm, his eyes fluttering open to stare deeply into my eyes. Gosh, I'm sure going to miss those eyes. "You and I both know it's the only way to truly get rid of them." He sighed in defeat, clenching his teeth. "I don't want to agree to this, but I know you're anyway going to do it, so I'll agree, but on one condition." I bit my bottom lip nervously. "And that would be?" He smiled victoriously. "I'll be coming with you." I shook my head, placing my hands on my hips. "No, it's too dangerous! Did you really think I'd agree to that? I might not care about my life, but I definitely care about yours." He pulled me closer by my waist and I wrapped my arms around his neck. "I know my brother better than you do and I know how to handle him. I basically have to come." He grinned down at me, knowing he had a logical-enough reason. I sighed heavily, closing my eyes. "Fine, but don't you dare try to stop me from continuing out my plan, got it?" He looked down, his jaw clenched. I placed my index finger underneath his chin, forcing him to look at me. "Got it?" He sighed before slowly nodding. "Got it." I smiled sadly before making my way towards the door. "Good. Now let's get going."

Our plan took place when it was dark outside. We quietly snuck our way into the barnyard, sneaking closer towards where Markus stood, his gang surrounding him. I gestured for Max to stay behind, while I snuck closer. "We have to find them. Both of them!" Some of the guys seemed to disagree, but one glare from Markus quickly shut them up. "We have to think of a plan to lure them here, but the question is, what?" I rolled my eyes. They all now had their back towards me. Now was my chance. With graceful movements, I quietly made my way behind one of the guys. "No need to lure me, cause I'm already here." Before the guy could turn around, I grabbed him by the neck and pressed a large knife to his throat. The guys all formed a circle around her, holding their weapons out.
Max yelled from behind, running towards the group, but one of the men caught him with ease. I rolled my eyes at him. Stubborn boy. "It's good to see that my two favourite people in the world is standing right before me." Markus smirked at us. I hissed at him. "You know, sarcasm doesn't fit you well Markus." he laughed out loud, before glancing at his men. He nodded in my direction. "Just remember, we need her alive." His men looked unsure for a moment, not forgetting that I had one of their co-workers at his mercy with a knife pressed against his throat. "What are you guys waiting for? Get her!"
They suddenly seemed to forget about the guy I held captive and stalked towards me. My plan was now falling perfectly into place. I grinned at Markus and for a moment, he looked confused. "Good luck with completing your mission now Markus." I suddenly pushed the guy aside before driving the knife into my chest. "No!" Max and Markus screamed in unison, both for different reasons. I smiled at Markus wickedly as the blood dripped from my mouth onto the ground. Max fought against the guy holding him and when he finally got free, he ran towards me, just in time to catch me before I hit the ground.
Tears were streaming down his face as he held my face in his hands. "No, no Sophia! Stay with me. Don't you dare leave me!" I smiled up at him weakly, my vision going in and out of focus. "Now you can be free, Max. Just remember... I... love y-you...too..." My eyes fluttered shut and as I blew out my last breath, a feeling of peace consumed my heart and mind.
