I kept an eye on Amber the entire time at the party. She seemed braver tonight, moving around on her own and engaging in conversations, becoming friendlier with people, even though I knew she harbored an inner resentment toward all of them. However, soon I couldn’t stay away from her any longer. I excused myself from the group I was talking with and walked over to Amber, wrapping my arms around her from behind. She didn’t jump but simply let out a happy giggle. She knew there was only one person brave enough to touch her like this.
“You’re right,” I whispered in her ear as I pulled her a little away from the group so the others would focus on their own conversations.
“What?”
“This dress is teasing the hell out of me,” I confessed, moving lower and playfully biting her neck.
