I was sitting in the living room, snacking on chips while reading a book, when Everly came in looking rather tired. I watched as she approached me without saying a word, then let herself fall onto the couch, resting her head on my stomach, her ear right over where the baby was. I glanced down at her, confused.
“I’ve had the craziest night,” she groaned.
“Eh… why?” I asked.
She rolled onto her back, looking up at me. “I met the wildest little thing at a bar,” she said. “She had stamina.”
I shook my head. “I see.”
“What? You don’t get to have all the action,” she teased. “I’m still young.”
Her words amused me, making me laugh, before I put the book down and ran my hand through her hair. “Hope you showered,” I said.
“I did. She was rather dirty,” she joked and winked at me.
