She was really pushing me to my limits, challenging me, and driving me to the brink of insanity! But not in a negative way. Enzo wasn’t wrong. I’ve always relished a challenge. Luckily, my phone suddenly rang, interrupting the tense silence. Retrieving it from my pocket, I saw it was Colum calling.
“Yes?” I answered, putting the phone to my ear.
Out of the corner of my eye, I noticed Amber watching me. Hastily, I rose from my chair and instructed Colum to hold on.
“Stay,” I commanded.
“Yes, sir,” she replied with a mocking salute.
