Emma’s POV

“Open the f*****g door, Josh,” I yelled for the fifth time after Alexander left, I tried opening the door with my key but it won’t open because Josh is guarding the door like a dog and his key is on the other side, I rang the bell that’s when he came standing by the other side of the door.

“Promise you won’t kill me and I will,” Josh said from the other side of the door, I rolled my eyes.

“I won’t kill you.”

“I don’t believe you,” Josh said.

“Josh I’m tired and I need rest, open the f*****g or else,” I said sounding threatening.

“Or else what?.” Josh asked.

“Or else, I will walk into our neighbor’s house and tell him how much you hate his cat, we all know that body built will kill you once he hears that,” I said Josh and I had a neighbor, we don’t even know his name but we call him the monster truck, he is so body built and he has this annoying cat that he loves more than anytime.

I won’t be stupid to cross his path.

“Fine,” Josh said, I heard the lock and then the door opened wide, once I got in I closed the door and gave Josh a fake smile. I didn’t say a word to him, I walked into the kitchen and took out a broom.

“You won’t dare,” Josh said.

I dared, I hit him so hard with the broom, first I’m mad he made me late this morning then I’m mad he didn’t open the door when I told him to.

“Don’t kill me,” Josh said wincing in pain, once I knew I hit him enough, I sat on the couch and breathed out.

“Okay, I kind of deserved it,” Josh said sitting next to me.

“Yes, you did,” I replied. “Did you break a bone or two?” I asked with a smirk on my face.

“I didn’t,” Josh said.

I smiled when he said, I’m glad I don’t have to go for a hospital visit tonight.

“So who is the hottie that dropped you here?.” Josh asked.

“You won’t believe it if I told you.” I adjusted my sitting position so I would face him.

“Surprise me.”

“You are going to be very surprised, it’s Rose’s brother.” The next time I heard was a scream, f*****g hell Josh does know how to scream. He is going to make his ears bleed.

“Josh that’s enough,” I said when I realized I have an army best friend and he wouldn’t stop.

“You have got to be kidding me, he is her brother but she is a monster,” Josh said, Josh knew Rose too, there was a time I forgot a file at home and I asked Josh if he will get it for me which he did but Rose didn’t take it well, she got angry about the fact I allowed an outsider into the office without her permission.

She needs help, I know.

Josh was mad with the way she acted, he wanted to say something but I stopped him, she would kill me if he says anything against her and ever since then Josh hates her guts and keeps asking her to quit and look for another job.

“He is so sweet, he is nothing like her, it’s like she is fire and he is ice,” I said to Josh.

“Tell me everything,” I told Josh about me submitting the file late and how he stopped to ask if I wanted a ride and how he waited after I said no and how he made me comfortable I told him about the comment I made on how Rose is related to Alexander, which Alexander took good he didn’t kill me for saying that and finally, he kissed me on the cheek which made Josh scream again, God I would have to seal his f*****g mouth.

“Are you sure they are related?.” Josh asked again.

“They are, he owns one of the companies and we know all the companies are only owned by blood so.”

“Wow, it’s good to know the family is not filled with monsters,” Josh said.

I whispered a low ‘I know right

Josh and I talked for a while before I left the living room to go take a shower, I took a quick shower and wore my pajamas, I walked into the room to be met by food.

“I made grilled cheese,” Josh said I sat next to him and he passed me a plate.

“Friends,” I asked staring at the television.

“Obviously,” Josh replied Friends, is our favorite tv show though it was created a long time ago we loved it, it’s funny and it’s like watching real life if that’s how I should put it.

The next day, I woke up early thank God I slept early last night, I took a quick bath and got dressed into a black pantsuit and a matching dress shirt, Rose wanted to wear trousers during an important meeting because she believes in wearing a skirt I’m trying to seduce her clients.

I f*****g hate her so much, I wish I could pay off all my loans or at least find a new job so I won’t be tortured by her every day of my life.

I sent a quick text to Sara informing her to help me get the meeting room ready.

She is a lifesaver.

I got a cab, and thank goodness the cab driver wasn’t as slow as the one yesterday, I got to the office twenty minutes earlier, and the first thing I did was get her coffee and walked into her office.

She wasn’t there, that could mean one thing, she is in the meeting room making sure everything is well organized, I kept her coffee and walked out.

“Good morning ma’am,” I said to her once I got into the meeting room. She didn’t reply as usual.

“Get more papers and hot coffee for everyone.” She said in a firm voice.

“Okay, ma’am.”

“Don’t okay ma’am me, go right now.” She yelled, I rolled my eyes and walked out.

It’s annoying because the coffee would be cold before they get here and then she would force me to go get them a new one.

I’m definitely rethinking continuing working with her, I have had enough of her torture, I could apply for a job and see where I get accepted then I can leave this f*****g job.

“It’s cold,” Rose stated, the meeting started three minutes ago, that is ten minutes after I got the coffee, and oh wow as expected she is complaining about the coffee being cold.

“I would get another one Ma’am.” I took her coffee and apparently everyone’s own, thank goodness they were only six people in the room.

“I feel like killing her,” I muttered to Sara, turns out Rose asked her to print out some papers and now Rose says it should be on an A5 paper.

She got issues.

“Tell me about it,” I said to Sara.

Finally, the meeting had ended, I knew with all the work she gave me she will still ask for notes for the meeting, even though she knows I wasn’t their half of the time, thank god I kept my phone there making sure to record the whole thing.

I made her the notes and drafted the documents that is needed after the meeting.

While I was working, I logged in to check for any jobs available and I found out the Riccis are hiring, they are looking for some to fill in for the secretary of Alexander Ricci,

would she hate me for resigning and working for her brother, yes?

Do I care, I don’t.

I applied for the job fillings a form online, I really hope I hear back from them before I murder Rose or before she murders me.

I continued with my work, my mind wanders off to Alexander, his scent, his f*****g smile. I need to stop this, he doesn’t need another stalker I know he has got enough.

“Good night Ma’am,” I said standing by the side of the door, the door opened a jar, but she didn’t reply. I walked out of the office and hailed a cab.

“You need to come home now.” I saw a text from Josh.

“Why?.” I replied.

“Just f*****g come, it’s an emergency,” Josh replied to the message. I rolled my eyes, he can be f*****g dramatic. I’m pretty sure maybe he cooked and he wants me to try or they gave him a raise at work.

Once I got home, I unlocked it. Good to know he is not standing by the door, I was shocked when I saw who sat on my couch.

Josh was right, it’s a f*****g emergency.
