26 Footprints on the Ceiling That night Knox and Ximena rushed into their quarters, leaving Alex and TrysKa alone in Maverick’s hall. He leaned against the wall next to his room and she next to hers. “So… goodnight?” he said. “Goodnight,” TrysKa said. She leaned forward to kiss him on the cheek as she had for years but then hesitated. Alex started to turn away and say Don’t worry about it. But TrysKa gave him a quick peck before he could.
