Chapter 19

I wondered about this Lady Bai. I churned my memory as awaited this fight with Sara that was supposed to take place. Questions were stirring in my mind. Where did I hear of the name of Lady Bai? There was the obvious answer that maybe it was from my father. When did I hear about it? That was a harder thing think of. It could have been that my father had told me a legend of some female named Lady Bai when I was much younger. Back when I did not listen attentively because a lot of these legends were just stupid. One by one they have turned out to have been real. As real as everything else has turned out to be. If someone would have told me back when I was child to listen to the stories then I would have known about some of this stuff. The legends at least. I doubted that my father would have known about the other planets and stuff. I paced around this holding cell as they called it. I have no idea why they called it that. It looked more roundish than whatever the hell a cell was. I stopped and thought about it. How in the hell did I get into this situation, I mean really, when I stopped and thought about it? It had been an interesting 4 years. First my planet gets invaded by those lizard creatures in the silver suits, then I get transported by Hanuman apparently 40 years after that that had happened, to this moon called Rho. Then I was there for a year, then I get transported again this time to a planet called Saffar, there I meet my Master Marx Browne, then I had to kill him because of that medallion, and now I was here on this other planet and the medallion is not even on me and oh by the way it belonged to whatever the hell a consort was a of Shiva. I was sure that a consort was essentially like a mate. If Lady Bai was telling the truth and this Kali did help Hanuman. Hanuman would have said this. From what I remember Hanuman saying about what had happened, all others like him had been killed by Shiva himself and he was the only one who saw Shiva for what he was a genocidal maniac. Someone who literally want to wipe out everything that lived from existence. I needed to know more. Like what was this Brotherhood and why did Methuselah give it to Lady Kyzl, what did the medallion have to do with it? Why was the lizard looking for the brotherhood, why did he let me take the medallion if it had something to do with it? I saw what this thing did, it sucked the life out of people, in a matter of moments. That sort of power was uncanny and accursed. I sighed heavily and walked around again. “You keep walking around like that you will make a hole in the floor.” A voice said and I looked over and saw a female standing just outside of this cell thing looking in. She looked pretty. She had long black hair that she had up in a bun and this sort of fair skin that I heard Walker call alabaster, she was quite tall and she had the prettiest piercing blue eyes I had ever seen. She was quite thin, but for some reason, at the same time she didn’t look like I would break her accidentally. I could only see her from the waist up but from what I saw she was wearing this multi-colored dress that looked like it went very well with her skin tone. She fiddled with her hair suddenly before she undid her bun and made it into a pony-tail, she was even prettier like that! “I’m sorry and you are?” I asked. “I’m…Marie…yeah that’s my name.” Marie said. “Marie,” I said I somehow felt that this was not her actual name but decided to ignore that for a moment before wondering about why she was here. “So why are you.” “Hanuman sent me,” she said. “Of course,” I said rubbing the bridge of my nose. “And you came here because…” “He said to remind you about the legend of a white snake and you would know what he meant.” Marie said. I stared at her for a while, I think I knew what she meant. I vaguely remember that there was a very-old Beghrest tale of a white serpent that had been spared. From what I remember there was a Beghrest farmer who was named Jaoking (I always laughed at the stupidity of this name sounding like joking). From I remember there was a rash of snakes that plagued a village in the western providences of Kyzlbrahma. So, there was an order to kill all snakes. Jaoking for whatever reason found a white snake and spared it. The next day a woman claiming to be that very same snake being blessed by Lord Brahma to take human form coming to repay him for his kindness. She apparently was the daughter of Zilvinas the king of snakes. They got together and eventually it was found out that Zilvinas and his daughter were actually demonic snakes and were not what they claimed to be. “Why does Hanuman always have to be so cryptic.” I said as I rubbed the bridge of my nose. “What about the myth?” “He said you should be able to figure it out,” Marie said she crossed her arms and looked at me questioningly. My word was she pretty her alabaster skin glistened her eyes frosty blue yet looking as if she was genuinely curious about what I had to say. “What is that myth about?” “From what I remember, it was a story of a Beghrest farmer named Jaoking who I always said his name was joking. There was a rash of snakes that was killing some of the domesticated animals or something like that probably around Durat which is a western territory of Kyzlbrahma.” I said. “Jaoking apparently found a white snake that wasn’t harming anything and instead of killing it on sight he spared it. Then supposedly a few days later or some such thing she turned up as a female Beghrest claiming that Lord Brahma had blessed her to become a Beghrest to repay him for his kindness.” “She then ended up being the princess of the Snake Kingdome as her father was Zilvinas the king of the serpents.” I said. “The king of the serpents struck a deal that he will provide wealth for his daughter and Jaoking, Eventually it was discovered that they were some sort of sinister serpents and they were hunted down but they disappeared before they could get caught. Many thinking that they went back to Zilvinas’s kingdom that none actually knew where it was.” “Just a point, what was the name of the princess?” Marie asked. I thought about that for a moment. “Do you not remember?” Marie asked. “You have to realize I had not heard this story since I was younger.” I said. “And even then, I did not pay much attention to legends like that when I was of that age.” “From what you are telling me though it sounds like at some point in your history the Dragons had come to your planet before.” Marie said and I stared at her for a moment. “Think about it, they were plaguing the world and your kind decided to band against them? They killed a bunch but a farmer spared a white looking female one. The next day she came back looking like one of your kind? When you stop and think about it what if they are using the same type of technology we are using here.” She lifted her belt enough to show she was wearing one too. It was then I realized that she had been saying my kind. Meaning she was not a Beghrest then that lead into a whole new set of probabilities as to who this female was. “And they happen to call them a serpent?” she said. I thought about that for a moment. If this legend was based on some…what did Walker call it? A curnell of truth? I think that is what he called it…then maybe they were saying she was a serpent referring to these lizard creatures that I knew. Meaning that they had been on my planet before, but why? “Good point,” I said. “And she was a white snake…” Marie said. I suddenly gaped. I suddenly remembered that name! That creature that was pretending to be the supreme chief of this tribe on this world this Lady Bai as she called herself. The name of that princess of the snakes was… Lady Bai…
