The Rejected Eddie Returns

Chapter 3

It was my father, Odo, he had come to visit after a long time, he finally made to see my boss. He was accompanied by two old men in black suits fitted with red ties.

With excitements, I went and hugged him, expressing concerns on his arrival.

“Ah welcome, come in sir” Alexander said in low deep voice, expressing fear, his eyes were unstable and rolled from time to time, he stood and went to meet them, greeted them with a lot of respect.

He then showed them a way to the sitting.

My father sat on the left corner of the house near the T. V and his two guests just beside him. He looked so erratic and from the look of his eyes I was able to realize his tension, he was troubled, and kept on whispering to his friends from time to time.

Alexander sat opposite to them, folding his hands together and expressing excitement, his fear had gone; he wore a smile on his face.

I found myself busy, went to the kitchen and prepared coffee for them. Alexander then instructed me to take Kara and go on a walk, he gave me two dollars to buy snacks for her.

I had fear leaving my father with Alexander, but with a blink of his left eye, my father assured me that everything will be fine, and he too asked me to leave them alone.

I left that evening to the market.
