Chapter 1 Sleeping With Three Men In One Night
SLAP!
Evianne had hardly stepped into the living room of the Moone family when a newspaper caught her full in the face.
She kneaded her rounded nose which was reddening from the hit. Her eyes rested on the newspaper beside her feet which happened to have its entertainment section facing upwards.
Evianne Moone Slept With Three Men in One Night.
What a spicy title. It's freaking fascinating.
I should write a thank-you letter to the newspaper editor.
"You shameless little beast! Why don't you just die?!"
Hyber Moone, Evianne's father, bawled furiously, spraying spit and struggling to rise from the sofa.
It was obvious he was bursting to slap Evianne's face.
Evianne, smiling lukewarmly, lowered her head to fiddle with her acrylic fingernails cavalierly.
"Mr. Moone, I suggest you restrain your anger. Nobody's going to compensate you if you fall ill due to anger."
"You—You shameless little piece of s**t! I would've strangled you with my bare hands had I known beforehand you'd end up like this!"
"That's right. You should've choked me right after my birth. Now it's no good regretting not having done that."
"Evianne, that is no way to speak to your father. You need to apologize to him right now."
Silure Sole said those words with a stagily simpering tone, furrowing her arched brows, a snicker on her face.
Evianne found Silure both gross and admirable.
Silure had never felt ashamed of being a fortune hunter, and she had become Evianne's stepmother at the "ripe old age" of 29.
"Ms. Sole, Mr. Moone here has a right to be mad, but what makes you think you get to do the same? Who do you think you are? Did I speak to you? Who said you could talk to me?"
Silure's face changed immediately at Evianne's words.
"Hubby, look how rude she is!"
Hyber, unable to suppress his fury anymore, hurried over in a few long strides.
He promptly slapped Evianne's face and then did it again with the back of his hand.
"Three men! You slept with three men in one night! Three… You brought enough disgrace on this family for ten lifetimes! You heartless creature!"
"Tell me about it. We had a hard job to arrange a marriage for you, but you screwed it up. The Jansons called us early this morning and said they wanted to break off the engagement!" Silure tried her best to add fuel to the flames of Hyber's anger, intending to escalate the situation.
Hyber's blazing rage surged further at Silure's words.
He lifted his hand in an attempt to slap Evianne's face again, but this time Evianne gripped his arm.
"You—! I dare you!" Hyber's eyes widened, blue veins throbbing horribly in his temples.
Evianne's mouth curved in a smile, her eyes glistening. "Three men. Yeah, I did check into a hotel room with three men, but will you believe me if I tell you I played cards with them all night?"
"You piece of s**t!"
Evianne gave a self-deprecating smile and, releasing Hyber's arm, took a step backward. "It makes sense. If I were you, I wouldn’t believe it either."
She headed for the front door without a backward glance. Hyber's curses came from behind her. "You filthy creature! If you leave this house, don't ever come back! You wicked little…"
Evianne hopped into her fiery red Maserati, did a graceful drift and drove out of the Moone family's mansion.
My engagement to that Janson boy?
Ha!
Evianne had never taken the engagement seriously.
The Janson family was one of the lowliest families in Sirra City. If she was to get married, she would marry the richest, hottest and toughest man in this city.
And there was only one man meeting all her requirements.
…
Regality Entertainment Hub.
The men's room.
"Miss Shelley, please have some self-respect."
"Self-respect? I don't want any self-respect. It's your kiss that I want, Zam!"
While speaking, Jasmine, almost half-naked, twined her arms around Zamond's neck, puckered her rosy lips and leaned towards him.
A momentary look of distaste appeared in Zamond's eyes. Their lips were within an inch of coming into contact with each other when someone heavily pushed the restroom door open.
"Sorry."
A charming girl leaned against the door frame and leisurely looked at the two people inside.
Evianne's eyes met Jasmine's as the latter turned to look at her. Evianne smiled brightly, "I'm sorry, but please get your hands off my…"
After a brief pause, Evianne met Zamond's meaningful eyes and her smile broadened. "Get your hands off my man. Thanks."
"Yo—Your man?" Jasmine was having trouble understanding the connotation of those two words, her arms still firmly twined around Zamond's neck.
Eyes glinting coldly, Jasmine snapped, "Get out, you psycho!"
Some people's smiles indicate how malicious their thoughts are.
The smile on Evianne's lips at that moment was a good example.
Instead of obediently "getting out", she walked up to the two of them and halted.
Evianne clenched her slim fingers around Jasmine's wrist and dexterously gave it a twist.
With a shrill pained cry, Jasmine quickly withdrew her arms, and the next second Evianne gripped Jasmine's long hair.
Evianne inwardly gave a little sigh. I never wanted to use such a shrewish method, but Miss Shelley here is so disobedient and so unobservant.
This is my first meeting with my future husband, but it got ruined just like this. What a shame.
As that thought crossed her mind, Evianne, before Jasmine could react, yanked Jasmine over with a sharp pull at her hair and gave Jasmine's hipbone a push with her pert bottom.
She did that expertly with a series of fluent movements.
Jasmine fell over, cutting a sorry figure, sitting there transfixed with disbelief.
Evianne exhaled deeply and lifted her face to look at Zamond.
Her complexion was as smooth and fair as a porcelain figurine, her features flawlessly good-looking.
Her eyes were the most charming. Their slightly upturned corners were very titillating.
Zamond felt a pain in his groins. He even had an urge to pin Evianne to the wall and have angry s*x with her.
Evianne's smile became brighter as she noticed the desire in Zamond's eyes.
She stood on tiptoe, leaned her head close to Zamond's ear and whispered something softly.
"Do you want me? If you do, come with me."
Having finished speaking, she hooked her hand behind Zamond's tie and held it.
Zamond's thin lips curled in a smile. He docilely let Evianne drew him out of the men's room.
The room door closed.
Jasmine belatedly came to herself. She ran out to give chase, but the other two were nowhere to be seen.
Evianne and Zamond seated themselves in high stools at the bar. They each ordered a glass of wine.
The raucous music, the glaring lights and the men and women dancing frenetically on the dance floor seemed insignificant.
Their world was as quiet as a painting.
Evianne's fingers clenched around her glass of red wine. She gently swirled the wine in her glass, watching the scarlet liquid lapping against the inside of the glass. The sight was eerily pleasing to the eye.
"Zamond, let's get married."
Evianne took a sip of wine and made a request without preamble.
Zamond's sharp-contoured chin relaxed slightly at her words, a twinkle in his piercing eyes.
"Since you know who I am, you should be aware of what my marriage means to the Tanke family and the Tanke group."
"I am aware of that," Evianne said with a sweet smile. She rested her chin on her hand and added with a lift of her brows, "Allow me to introduce myself. I'm—"
"Evianne Moone," Zamond interrupted her, finishing her sentence for her.
Evianne's eyes lit up. She said with mixed delight and surprise, "So you know me."
"You're Hyber Moone's third-born. You're something of a celebrity in Sirra City."
He's got a point.
I'm Hyber Moone's third-born, a notoriously promiscuous girl.
My bad reputation precedes me.
The gleam in her eyes faded a little. Evianne bit her lower lip and smiled, "Well, it's true my reputation is not perfect, but you won't get the short end of the bargain if you marry me. My family is one of the most prestigious families in Sirra City. The Tanke family will have a powerful ally if we get married."
Her rosy lips parted and closed repeatedly in the dim flicking light, accompanied by chuckles. "Besides, your reputation is not much better than mine, Mr. Tanke. 'The chairman of the Tanke group who rose to leadership by murdering his big brother', the one calling all the shots in the Tanke family. We're an outcast duo."
Evianne found herself in a one-handed chokehold after saying that.
The force almost broke her neck.
"You need to guard your tongue, woman. Understand?"
