"so you are going to university now" Stella friend, Blessing said with a smile It's been over a year now since both of them have graduated at the Christ Morris high school, Texas. After their graduation, they both choose to rest for a year before processing their education to the tertiary level, "what did you think, I can't wait to be a university student" i said with a big smile, shining all over her teeth "see that you are over excited about your going to the university Stella, I hope mime comes early too" Blessing said "don't worry darling it's going to come early as mime" I replied "so are you going to come and see me if you are back after the first semester" "what did you think baby girl, I will do that asy first assignment but for now I can wait to go to the university" Blessing sees the happiness in her friend, they are both coming from a computer hub where they go print some of the documents that Stella will need if she is in the university. As they both take the U-turn that leads to Blessing house, she felt a kind of weird feeling. Har best friend who they have done many great things together will be leaving her behind. Although it's not easy being here in at home and watching most of her friends gaining admission to the university and leaving her behind. Being engrossed with her thoughts, she looked at the tiled road as two bus drove passed them. Being the breadwinner of the family as not been easy for her. Blessing remember those days when that were still in secondary school, she remembered how Stella usually fights for her when the bullies round up on her and that's what made them very close. Tears wet her face and she used her hand to wipe it away. Yeah, I am going to miss her big time, very big time. "hey are you good" I said noticing her friend mood change "yeah I am" Blessing said, this time that they are getting closer to her house, they are just two blocks away I pauses and so did Blessing. She understands why her friend mood changed, but there is nothing she can do about it. Taking a deep breath and exhale quietly, she moves closer to her friends and hugged her "darling am sorry I am going to leave you but I need you to understand that we are going to be together no matter what. We promised to be best friends forever" she said as Blessing break down fully into tears in her arms. ********************************************** "mum!, am back" I said as I got home with my folder filled with the documents that i go out to print, "can you drop that and cone help me in to kitchen" my mum said "okay mum" I said and drop my documents on the table "so hope you git everything right" my mum asked "yes mum, I and Blessing went-" I Immediately stopped myself as I realized what I am about to do. My parents do not like Blessing and have warned me several times go have nothing to do with her. The reason was that they didn't just like Blessing personality and they feel that there is something bad about her even when they cant catch a glimpse of what's wrong with Blessing. As best friend forever, I swore to Blessing that I will never link her lifetime secret of her being a lesbian. Most times I do fight myself and asked myself if it's normal for every lady to love the same s*x have intimate feelings with her buts it's kinda weird. I wonder how she's copping with her lifestyle which I tried to change but at long run gave up when I saw that she is not losing up on it. "get me the big spoon" my mom said "am sorry mum" I said as go look for the spoon "hrs nothing to worry about Stella, I just hope you stay careful when you are with her" my mum said. Yes, careful, I repeated the words in my head as I go give my mom the spoon "so how about the documents did you manage to print everything" "yes mum I did avd I can't wait to get into the university" I said as my excitement bursts round my whole body She looks at me and smiled, "too excited right" "yes mum, I cant wait to go into the school and I hear about all the stories that many have been saying about the university" "I understand that you are excited, curious and lingering , but I want you to know that the university is full of stress" my mum said as she collects the spoon "I don't believe that mum" I said, "the university is going to be a place full of fun and lots of great things to feed the eyes with" My mum nods, "i and you father have been lecturers for ten years now and have seen the university from different perspectives" she said as she cut the fresh vegetables "I know mum, that you and dad are great people who have been in the tertiary education system for years and had great experience in it... I should always look up to you to know more about the place" I said and bring a bowl that she will pour the cut vegetables into "thanks darling" my mum said as she collect the bowl I said nothing but watched my mum as she begins to cook the vegetables soup that we are going to eat for dinner. So here is a little drag about family, it's kinda of funny and weird but to be frank here, I am the only daughter of my parents who have been married for twenty years and I am seventeen. Most time I usually wished that I have a younger siblings or something but it's not coming. My parents are busy people who don't have time for making babies anymore and I do feel angry about it. My dad, the most gentle man ever I have seen in the world, Mr Richard Wilson, the head of department of Faculty of Art in Washington University. He is very caring and unlike my mum who is kinda of strict, he takes things in a very slow and gentle way. I really love my family especially my parents because they are quite funny, cool and sometime they could be harsh but that's usually happens once in a while which I always hate when it does happen..
