I heard the ceiling go down and my entire world stopped. One moment I was fighting through a wall of rogues, trying to get back to the center of the hall. The next, a thunderous crash swallowed every other sound and a massive cloud of dust rolled outward like a wave, knocking wolves off their feet and turning the air white.
I knew before the dust settled. Knew in my bones, in my blood, in the Alpha bond that connected me to every member of my pack and most powerfully to my son.
