Pieces of Me.
The house never stopped humming. Laughters from the kitchen, someone's song slipping through the hallway, the creak of doors that never stayed shut. In the middle of it all sat the smallest one, tracing sunlight on the floorboards, soaking in the noise as if it were proof that love was Real.
"She didn't know why --
but even surrounded by it,she was afraid it might one day FADE."
Then Came her mother's voice -- soft enough to hush the whole house. When she turned, her mother's face was alright, joy trembling at the edges like a flame in gentle wind. The child smiled back, but something in her chest stirred a small, wordless fear that even the brightest faces can fade when you blink too long...
"For a moment, the child thought LOVE must look exactly like that
-- Warm, Certain and Forever"
Her mother's laughter drifted behind her as she wandered to the next room. There, her sister's were tangled in play -- ribbons flying, giggles bursting like bubbles in the air. The room felt alive, stitched together by joy. She watched from the doorway , smiling, though a small thought Brushed her heart :
Could happiness ever run out, if everyone used it at once ??
Although she was only a little girl, the feeling was clear as breath --
That strange mix of fear and faith. Fear that the laughter might one day fade, and belief that the people who filled her world would never truly leave.
Both lived quietly in her chest, like two hands holding each other in the dark !!
Days passed, stitched together with small, tender moments. In the laughter and chatter, she felt the warmth of her father's love, even from afar. Living abroad had never kept him from pouring his heart into every call, every letter, every question answered with patience.
To her,
he was always near, always listening, as if distance could never touch the bond they shared.
