《CHAPTER THREE ; SWEET LIES 》
The door bell rang and Liliana ran out of the kitchen enthusiastically, she was sure it was Vanessa and she couldn't wait to hear all about last night's events between her and Alaric.
"I am coming." She said unlocking the door, she stared at Vanessa, her eyes looked swollen and red, her heels were in her hands and her wet hair stuck to her face because of the rain she was completely drenched.
"Vanessa?" Liliana asked, astonished seeing her in such a dreaded state.
"Liliana." she said softly, hugging her best friend and sobbing in her arms.
"Vanessa, Nessa, what's wrong ?" Liliana asked, getting teary seeing her friend crying so much.
"Liliana he..." she paused, sobbing hard. "He never loved me he said it was all a lie." She cried bitterly, shivering from the cold breeze of the air conditioning.
Dressed for work, Ayesha walked down the stairs with an umbrella in her hand, only to meet Vanessa laying on Liliana's lap crying her eyes out.
"Nessa? What's wrong with Vanessa?" She inquired from Liliana who seemed almost as sad as Vanessa.
"You were right all along, Ayesha." Liliana admitted with a faint smile, “Alaric Kaiser is a bastard and a player. He broke Vanessa's heart.” Liliana hugged Vanessa tightly as she sobbed harder.
Ayesha's handbag fell from her shoulders and she quickly ran to Vanessa's side patting her black haired head softly.
"I really wish I was wrong." Ayesha lamented sadly, "So that all this wouldn't be happening and you would not be crying because of that bastard."
Liliana shook her head "it's my fault I gave him your number, I was so bent on getting you a boyfriend.” She sighed "Please forgive me Nessa."
"I sincerely thought he was changing for you, Mi Amiga I didn't know he could stop so low as this having you and dumping you the next day." Ayesha grumbled angrily.
"If I ever see that bastard I will break all his teeth and rip his hair off his head."
Vanessa's pain couldn't subside. She felt like her heart had been wrenched out of her chest, all she could think of was him and all the sweet moments they had shared. To think she was madly in love with a man who didn't value her all she was, was a bet, a silly bet he had won because of her stupidity.
Alaric Kaiser was a damned bastard that played with her heart and dumped her, but with all the pain she couldn't bring herself to hate him.
"It's all a Nightmare right?" She asked, still laying on Liliana's lap.
"I wish it was, I wish it was." Ayesha patted her head softly "Let's get you cleaned up you gonna fall sick sweetheart if you don't get cleaned up.”
"I want to die.” Vanessa cried harder "I don't want to live like this."
"Forget him, Vanessa, he doesn't deserve you." Ayesha comforted her.
"It isn't that easy." She snapped, "I can't just forget him the moment we shared especially last night, I can't forget that so easily, I can't." she sobbed even more.
Her thoughts wandered to the person that came to meet her at the hotel Alaric abandoned her. Her body shivered at the thought, she cuddled closer to Liliana crying harder.
In a semi dark room, A man who seemed to be of high status sat down on a throne like chair sipping a glass of red wine, when someone stormed into the room.
"You monster I have done as you asked now let her family members go and her roommate's, tell all the assassin's you sent to watch them to f**k off and leave them alone.” The young man roared angrily at him.
The man who sat on the throne stood up laughing loudly. He walked down from where he was, staring at the young man before him. He should be angry at the disrespect and insolence he was displaying yet it made him proud that his son had the qualities to be a ruthless business man in the future.
"Alaric, that's no way to talk to your father." The man warned, still smiling.
"You have no right to call yourself my father, Mr Kaiser.” Alaric frowned angrily "I broke up with Vanessa in the worst possible way a man could, so you would not harm her." He spat.
"My Vanny I can't imagine how heartbroken she is and it's all your fault Konrad Kaiser, all your fault.”
Konrad Kaiser's smile turned into a frown on hearing his son's words . "I did that for your good, you can't spend the rest of your life with a girl of lower status, you are the son of a business man, and your marriage to Luis Rodriguez's daughter will be beneficial for both of us and the business." He explained to him.
Alaric only scoffed. "All I want is for you to leave Vanessa alone, I will marry whichever girl you choose for me all I want you to do is assure me that Vanessa will always be safe.” His voice softened at the last part all he wanted was His father to assure him Vanessa's safety.
"Don't worry, do what I say and the girl will be safe.”
It ached Alaric's heart knowing he wouldn't be able to have his Vanny in his life anymore, and he would get revenge for that.
