Olivia’s POV It was my twenty-third birthday when I walked in on my boyfriend f*****g my best friend “Damian!“ I screamed , my mouth wide open . My fingers went numb . The birthday cake I’d spent hours choosing slid from my hands and crashed onto the marble floor but I barely noticed . My entire body trembled so violently I could hardly remain standing . For a heartbeat no one moved . Then Eliana calmly reached for the sheet rumpled at the edge of the bed and covered herself. There was no shame in her eyes , No panic. She looked at me with the same composed expression she wore everyday , as though I had interrupted an ordinary conversation instead of catching her in the middle of ruining my life How? How could she look so calm while entire world is falling apart? “Olivia….” Damian finally spoke ,” it’s not what you think .” “Really?! Do you take me for a fool???” I screamed staring at him before turning to Eliana. “Don’t tell me this is the Daniel you were referring to, Eliana!” Eliana scoffed. “And you believed? You’re so stupid, that’s why it’s so easy to fool you.” My voice trembled as I hold back tears. Damian looked with confusion as his gaze shifts from me to Eliana I looked back at Eliana “You told me Daniel is your boyfriend that he lives in Texas and you were always the one traveling to see him “ The room fell silent you could hear the drop of a pin Neither of them answered And in that silence , the truth became louder than any confession ever . I charged towards Eliana to hit her but I was caught by Damian, He pushed me to the wall and pinned me with his full strength I screamed in pains “ You are hurting me Damian!” Eliana barely reacted. She stood up ,put on her clothes as she walks towards the door “You had better deal with her “She said Eliana slipped over the splattered frosting on the floor as she made a move for the door.She screamed . Damian hurried over . I sobbed as I fell ontop the floor , I was heartbroken. The two people I had loved most had made fool out of me . It was all lies . Eliana wasn’t just my best friend. She was family. When my mother died and I was drowned in grief, she was the one who stayed with me throughout the sleepless night, reminding me I wasn’t alone.Even after my father remarried , home stopped feeling like home , she stayed.She became my solace , the one person I never doubted, the one person I never believe will hurt me . I trusted her with everything. She was the one who introduced Damian to me. I still remembered the smile on her face as she pushed him towards me. “You deserve someone who’ll make you happy ,Olivia ,” she’d said. I believed every word because it came from her. Never did I imagine the friend who had placed his hand in mine would one day be sharing his bed behind my back. I felt a sharp ache twisted in my chest as another memory crashed into me. The pregnancy. I was both excited and terrified when I found out I was carrying Damian’s baby .I didn’t know whether to cry or pretend the positive test didn’t exist. I felt trapped between fear and uncertainty unable to picture what my future would look like. But Eliana was extremely happy . She hugged me tightly and laughed through happy tears when she told me she was pregnant too for Daniel. Even though I have not met Daniel he seem to be taking care of her well and I was so happy for them. “This is perfect ,” she’d said her eyes beaming with happiness .”Our babies will grow up together .”We will go through every doctor’s appointment and every sleepless nights together. We’ll be pregnancy twins .” Slowly. She’d convinced me that maybe everything would be okay. Now I realized she’d been lieing to me all along . “I told you to end things with her , I can’t keep doing this it’s either her or me .”she glared at him. “I’m sorry babe , I got this “ “Damian,You are a monster, I gave you all I have my heart , my body and my money. You told me you were broke only to be f*****g around with my best friend ? “ “I think you should go now , we will talk about it later …. “ I am carrying your baby for crying out loud , I’m giving you a piece of myself and all you can do is to make me unhappy on my birthday ? “ I promise to make it up to you but you have to leave now “ Damian shouted angrily “And she will stay ? , that’s not happening, I’m not leaving .” Damian assisted Eliana to the bed . I hurried after her and grabbed her hair , she let out a loud scream , Damian rushed over, separated us . I had strands of her hair in my hand . “ I have had enough of your drama , you have to leave n…. Before he could complete it Eliana , fuming with anger picked up the nereby object she could find and threw it at me , I lost my balance and fell to the floor . Blood trickled down my head as I let out a loud cry. She kicked my tummy as Damian help her back . I was growling in pains ,I felt my life leaving my body. I fell flat on my tummy as Damian dragged me towards the door , I hit my body against walls and few objects . I reached for the chair leg,desperate for something for support but it was useless ,his grip hardened as he dragged me back without mercy . He closed the door behind him , pushed me towards the banister, he grabbed my neck as though the blood trickling down my head means nothing to him. “I told you to leave but you choose to humiliate yourself .” “You told me you loved me , now I’m being treated like a trash, is this all I mean to you ? I’m carrying your child .” Tears rolling down my cheeks. “Get off” He shoved me with force that my feet slipped out beneath me For a second , I staggered on the edge of the staircase before rolling down the stairs. My body slammed against one step after another ,Pain flowed through me as I tumbled down the staircase . Everything went still. Warm liquid gushed out beneath me , spreading across the floor . Blood . My vision blurred. Then everything went blank .
