Chapter twenty two

1018 Words
Izzy’s POV We walked to the first door in the hall. Taylor stopped and opened the door, and there sitting on the floor was my father. He looked up and saw me and sneered. What is that w**** doing here? Well, I can see nothing has changed, father. I turn around and walk out. Taylor looks at him and tells him you do understand that your punishment will be given to you by your children. He looks up a little startled to hear that. Grandpa is holding Izzy, telling her not to listen to that fool. Izzy just shakes her head as tears are running down her cheeks. I was hoping he would be different now, grandpa. I know my love. But just remember you have us. Devin, Zack, and Liam entered the room, and our father starts yelling at them. How could they do this to me? How could you betray me like this? You’re useless. Devin kneels down and tells our father, if I have anything to say about this, you would be dead. Our father starts cussing and yelling, calling us everything he could think of. Everyone walks out of the room, and Taylor shuts and locks the door. He’s been like that since we brought him here. He attacks everyone, sighs Taylor. What do you plan on doing with him ? asks Zack. Well, that is up to you guys, says Tony. What do you mean? says Liam. The crimes he committed were against you four, so I think the decision should be yours, says Tony. I agree with Tony, says Taylor. He hurt you four, and it should be your decision. Do we have to make a decision now? asks Izzy. No, of course not. Not till you all are ready. We walk to the very end of the hall, and Taylor knocks on the door. He then unlocks it. We find our mother sitting on her bed reading. She seems at peace. But once she sees us, she starts crying, and you can’t understand a word she says. Taylor, how long has she responded that way? asks Uncle Thomas. She has been that way since we arrested her, replies Tony. Something is off about it, but I just can’t quite figure it out, says Taylor. I have seen this one time before when I was really young, says Thomas. If I’m right, it’s an Alpha command. What do you mean, Uncle Thomas? asks Izzy. It’s simple: someone commanded your mother not to be able to talk when questioned. That would make sense, says Tony. Is there a way of undoing it? asks Zack. Yes, Tony should be able to undo it. He is their Alpha still. How is it possible that another Alpha can command someone that is not in their pack, asks Devin. Well, it would all depend on how weak their mind and wolf are. And how strong the Alpha is. Alpha Tony, why don’t you try commanding her to talk and see what happens? Then we will know what we are working with. We all stand in silence as Alpha Tony walks over and kneels in front of our mom. You can feel his aura. Janie, I command you to tell me what happened. For a minute, Janie just looks at him and tries talking to him, but it didn’t work. Thomas was right: it is an Alpha command. They all look at Taylor, and Taylor runs his hand through his hair. Please, Taylor, pleads Izzy. We are never going to know the truth unless we can get her to talk. Fine, I will give it a try. Everyone starts laughing. Taylor, you are the most powerful Alpha and you will just give it a try, laughs my Uncle Thomas. Nothing like being humble, laughs my grandfather. Taylor’s face turns red. Okay, okay, knock it off. For a minute, I thought Jarred was talking to me. Everyone bursts out laughing. I walk over and kneel in front of Janie. I slowly release my aura, and everyone starts to bow their heads, showing their necks as a sign of respect. The only one that it doesn’t seem to be bothered by it is Izzy. Janie, I command you to tell me what you know. I hate using the Alpha command; it seems so harsh. I hear a scream, then I see it. Something snaps in my mom, and it’s like a light has turned on. My mom starts to cry, telling him thank you. Actual words for the first time in years. Mom explained that she was forced to marry Pete, and right after she got married, she was Alpha-commanded by a guy named Malcolm. She was to follow everything our father told her to do, and if they were caught, she would not be able to answer any questions at all. Now I understand why you stopped talking to your parents, says Tony. Janie just shakes her head, crying. I was at the will of Pete, who is not even my real mate. Malcolm has my real mate, who is also the father of all my children. That is why Pete was able to do what he did to them. He does not have a bond with them. That would explain why we don’t look like him, says Liam. That does explain a lot, says Tony. The mark on your neck? It belongs to their father, James. Did you say James? Asks Taylor. Yes, why asks Janie? I will be back in a few minutes. Jarred, stay here with them, I will be right back. Is this even possible? If it is him, Ry, that would explain a lot. It would explain why he would just open the cell door and walk in and close it. Yeah, it would grumble Ry. I just thought he was an i***t. Ry! Well, what i***t walks into a dungeon, opens up the door, and walks in, then closes it behind him? Okay, I get your point. But if he is who I think he is, that would explain everything. True grumbles Ry.
