I recounted my conversation with Hunter to Chris over breakfast.
“Holy s**t,” she says.
“I know right. Like what the actual f**k?” I say.
“So he liked you but pushed you to date his best friend. What the actual f**k?” She says.
“I know!” I say.
“But you’ve had the biggest crush on Hunter for years!” She says.
“I know!” I say. “Wait. How did you know? I never told you that.”
“I’m your best friend. I know every single thing about you down to the mole on your ass. Did you really think I didn’t know about your crush?” She says.
I gasp and reflexively cover my ass cheek, “You never said anything.”
“It wasn’t my place. You would have told me if something came of it. Had I know that Hunter liked you I wouldn’t have encouraged you to date Adam,” she says.
