Chapter 40The sun is shining through a crack in the curtains and no matter which way I turn, it shines in my eyes. I look at the clock beside my bed and see it's seven o'clock. As it's Saturday, and I have the day off. I don't have to get up this early, but the morning brightness is relentless. I'm not actually tired, I simply don't want to move. Patricia and I are going to Perpignan this morning so we can buy our new clothes. I suppose, if she also wakes early, we can get there in time for the shops opening and maybe it will be quieter and easier to shop. Saturday is always hectic in the centre of Perpignan and the tourist season is not yet over. I get up, wash and dress, and I hope the sounds of me moving about the house will wake Patricia. It's a bit unkind of me to want her to get up
