Chapter 41The phone rings at nine o'clock on Sunday morning and I wonder who would telephone at this hour. Patricia is feeding the chickens, so I answer it. “Hello, Danielle, I hope I didn't wake you.” It's my Papa and I immediately get a jag of fear because he's always rung my mobile in the past, never the house phone. “Are you okay, Papa, is anything wrong?” “Everything is good, Danielle,” he says and I'm reassured. “I just wondered if I could come and visit you because I'd like to see your house.
