CHAPTER 9: Possesive Avie

Alexa's POV

It's been a week since I made a deal with Mr. and Mrs. Halston. Avery and I haven't hang out much because we are both busy, which makes me feel bad. I know that Avery wants to be with me, but because of some circumstances, we can't.

I took a leave at work this Friday because I wanted to visit Avery at her work, and I don't have any classes today. Mom said that Avery is stressed at work, so I will try to cheer her up. They will be having an important event, which is why Avery is busy. They will be holding a music festival since it's their company anniversary.

I'm here now in front of Halston Corp since she was here. I already contacted her secretary using Mom's phone. I asked her secretary what schedule she had for today.

I entered the building and some workers just passed me because Bobby was with me. He just accompanied me to the elevator and bid his goodbye. I arrived outside Avery's office. I waited here because I knew Avery was still in the meeting. I didn't want to go inside without permission, so I waited here.

"Excuse me, what are you doing here?" Suddenly, a girl asked, and she looked like an employee here. I bowed to her.

"Oh! I am just waiting for Av- I mean Ms. Halston. " I told her and she smiled at me.

"Are you her investor? or a business associate?or a worker? Which department are you working in? I haven't seen you around. " She walked near me and I felt she was going to touch me, but I stepped back.

"Sorry, Miss, I'm not working here."

"Stop the formalities. I'm Nicole. You are?"

"My fiance, soon to be wife," Someone said, and I looked at her and it was Avery. She was glaring at me. Or to this girl?

"Hey there! It was nice to see you today. " This Nicole girl greeted her with a smile.

"It's not nice to see you. Get out of here, "Ave said coldly.

"Handsome, see you later," She said as she waved at me, and I just bowed. I saw Avery was still mad.

"Madie, grab me some lunch first". Ave ordered her secretary.

"All right, Ms. Halston," Her secretary said, and Avery went inside her office, so I followed her; I knew she was upset, but she was just calming herself, which is why she wasn't talking to me.

"Avery", I called her, and walked towards her. Her back was facing me and I hugged her behind, which she froze, and suddenly she relaxed. "Still mad?" She shook her head. "Really? Look at me." She looked at me and then looked down. I cupped her face and I saw her look sad.

"Why are you mad and sad?" I asked her.

"Because of that bitch." She said seriously,

"Language," I chastised her, and she pouted."What did she do to make you mad?"

"Flirting with you"

"Flirting with me? I am not sure about that. "

"Yeah, because you are oblivious."

"I know, I'm sorry. Don't be mad anymore. "

"Did you find her pretty?"

"I'm not sure; I didn't pay much attention to her because I had to keep an eye on the time."

"Why are you watching the time?"

"I'm waiting for your meeting to be finished." She smiled at me and said, "I came to visit you here since you are busy and stressed. I know you want me to see that. That's why I came here. "

"I miss you, Allie", She hugged me tightly.

"I miss you too, Avie." I hugged her back.

"Avie?" She pulled her head back and looked at me.

"Yeah, you dont like it? I think about a nickname for you since you gave me a nickname." She smiled and buried her head in the crook of my neck.

"I love it, Allie," She said quietly, "You will be my Allie, and I'll be your Avie."

"Yeah, Avie and Allie," I whispered to her. We hugged each other while standing up for about 20 minutes, and I felt my legs were now getting sore. "Avie, can we take a seat?" She shook her head.

"No, I dont want you to pull away."

"Fine, put your legs on my waist. I'm going to lift you off the couch. My legs are getting sore. " She did as I said, and I lifted her to the couch, where I sat with her in my lap.

"I love this," She stated.

"Love what?"

"This feeling when I am hugging you and when you are with me." She hugged me tightly as if her life depended on it.

"You really love me?" She drew her head back, but her arms remained around my neck.

"Yes, I really love you, Allie." She showed me her gummy smile.

"Thank you for loving me, Avie." She buried her head in my neck and a minute later she fell asleep. All of a sudden, someone knocked and it opened. It is her secretary, Madie. She was holding a paper bag. I think its Avery's lunch.

Madie looked shocked because of our position. Maybe she can't believe that her boss is clinging to me. I smiled at her and signaled her to put the food on the center table. She bowed at me and left.

I rubbed my eyes to see her office, as I expected her theme to be dark. I didn't even see any photo of her or even her family photo. Its dark and plain, but everything is in order.

Avie is still sleeping. She is really tired. I rubbed her back slowly, like I was taking care of a child. I couldn't see her face because she buried it in my neck. All of a sudden, my phone rang.

Bear is calling...

On The Phone

AL: "Hello Sam"

S: "Hey, Lex!"

AL: "Why did you call me?"

S: "I just wanted to inform you that your boyfriend will be coming here soon. He texted me and said that you did not reply to his text. I just reasoned with him."

AL: "Thank you, Sam. I appreciate it."

S: "No problem, but why are you whispering?"

S: "Oh! Don't answer that I already know the answer."

AL: "Yes, you are right. I will see you on Monday."

S: "Okay, see you later!"

AL: "Bye for now"

The Call Ends

"It looks like I have explaining to do again." I muttered. I felt Avery move and she pulled away from the hug. She rubbed her eyes like a cat and yawned. "Did you sleep well, Avie?" She nodded and she hugged me again.

"Sorry," She apologized. She said it in a low voice. I know she is pouting right now.

"For what?"

"You visit me, but I just fell asleep."

"It's fine, Avie; in fact, I'm glad you fell asleep because it means you've regained your energy." I patted her head, "Your food is already here, so I want you to eat it first before you go to the event place."

"How did you know that I was going there?"

"I contacted your secretary." She frowned.

"So, you have her number now?" I shake my head.

"Nope, I borrowed Mom's phone." Why does she look upset?

"Why? Is there something wrong?"

"Nothing", She heaved a sigh. She ate her lunch and I just watched her because I had already eaten.

Knock, knock! Knock, knock!

"Come in," Avery said.

"Ms. Halston, Bobby is already waiting outside." Madie informed her and Avery nodded.

"Allie, I have to go," She said sadly, and she hugged me.

Such a clingy baby.

"Can I come with you?" I asked her and her ears perked up.

"But you have work."

"I took a leave. I really plan to be with you this day." She pulled away and looked at me.

"Thank you Allie!! I love you so much," She suddenly kissed my cheeks and I felt the heat on my face. "Allie, your face is red. Are you blushing?"

"Did I?" She nodded and smiled. She kissed me again on the other cheek. "Avie, stop kissing me. My face is heating up."

"Allie I'm sure you're blushing. It looks like I am making progress. " She said proudly.

"Yeah I think so. Let's go already, Bobby is waiting outside. " I walked first and she grabbed my wrist. I looked at her and she looked upset again. "Why?"

"How did you know Bobby?" She asked me in a positive tone.

"She is your driver, right? And he is also the one who was supposed to drive you when we went to Mc Donald's. He is also the one who drove me here." I answered her honestly.

"What?!?! Did he drive you here?!? " She shouted, confirming she was upset.

"Yeah, because before I went here I went to the Mansion first to meet Mom and Dad since they wanted to see me. Then, that's how I borrowed Mom's phone to contact Madie. They asked Bobby to drive me here because they did not want me to ride my bike again. So, Bobby drove me here and he accompanied me to the elevator. "

"He even accompanied you to the elevator?!?" She raised her voice.

"Avie, calm down. Why are you shouting and why are you even mad?"

"Because you were with Bobby earlier!!"

"Avie, he just drove me here. That's it. He didn't even talk to me. We just mind each other's businesses. Don't be mad now. "

"How can I? When you are with someone and I didnt know that you were with someone, "

"Are you jealous?" I asked her, I know I'm kinda dense about relationships, but I'm trying to learn. I even read books and read some websites.

"Yes, I am because you are only mine." She said it with a possesive tone.

"So why are you still jealous if I'm already yours?" She stopped talking. Maybe she was thinking also. "You know that I didnt get attracted to anyone, right? And I didn't even even talk that much to everyone. "

"I can't keep myself from being jealous of Allie because people find you attractive and they might flirt with you." She defended herself.

"Avie, don't worry. I'm not interested and I'm only interested in you. That's why I'm here with you." She sighed and she hugged me.

"I'm sorry Allie, I can't stop my jealousy; I just want you to myself."I hugged her back.

"It's fine Allie, but next time don't shout or raise your voice. Okay?" She nodded and pulled her head away. "Let's go now, Madie and Bobby are already waiting."

"Let's go!" She smiled and interwined our hands and I suddenly stopped her.

"Wait Avie pointed to our hands. "Do you want the employees here to see this? "I pointed at our hands.

"Yeah, why? Sooner or later, they will receive news about us getting married, and I do want them to be shocked. "

"Okay, only in one condition." She looked at me curiously.

"What is it?" She asked me.

"If your workers greet you, I want you to greet them back." She looked at me confused. "You don't need to bow, you just need to smile or tell them a good day or anything. If you do that, I'm willing to hold your hand wherever we go. "

"Okay, that is easy. Can I kiss you first before we go?" I nodded at her because I knew she would bug me if I refused. She kissed my cheeks.

"Make sure my cheeks don't have lipstick." This mischievous kitten immediately wiped my cheeks. "Is it already done?" She nodded.

"Let's go Allie!" We walked with our hands interwoven with each other. We ride the elevator to the ground floor. A lot of employees were looking at us.

"Good afternoon, Ms. Halston," An employee said and bowed.

"Good afternoon too. Keep up the good work." She said and smiled. All the employees are now stunned.

"I cannot believe Ms. Halston smiled."

"I think because of that girl"

"They are holding each other's hands"

"Are they in a relationship?"

"That tall blonde is pretty handsome"

"Also hot"

I heard a lot of whispering before we went outside of the building. We ride in the car, and Bobby is driving while Madie is in the passenger seat. The window separator is up to give us some privacy.
