Chapter 8: Jealousy

Our last topic in the morning was Programming 1 but our professor never came.
"Ryle, come on," Axel invited me to lunch.
"All right! Just wait a minute, I need to fix my things first," I replied.
"Make it faster my dear, so we won't be late," Axel reminded me. Then, I glanced at Ryker's chair and our eyes met. I couldn’t help myself to smile. Did he stare at me?
A few minutes later I was done too.
"I'm done, Axe. Let's go," I replied. Then, we went out.
In the parking lot, I saw Wren and Ryker holding hands while walking. They are a perfect couple. So, in Axel's car, I was confused by what I had seen earlier.
“Ryle? Are you okay?” Axel asked me.
“Yeah! Don’t bother,” I replied briefly.
"Since you weren’t in the mood. I’ll tell you now, Ryker’s secret,“ He said which makes me happy.
"Really? All right! I'm ready to listen, Axe," I excitedly replied.
“Ryker is the owner of RRJ University. The school was named after him. RRJ stands for Ryker Rhett Johansen. His father is a billionaire, they have a lot of companies to manage and his father is already old, so last week he officially gave the school to Ryker,” Axel revealed Ryker’s secrets.
I wasn’t happy with what I heard because I just underestimated myself. He is like a star that is hard to reach. From now on, I will distance myself from Ryker. I am allergic to a wealthy family.
A few minutes later, we arrived at the fancy restaurant. Only the rich can afford to eat here.
“Axe, why did you bring me here? I don’t have enough money to pay for our food,” I sadly admitted to him. Then he laughed.
"Ha-ha, who told you, you'd pay our bill here at the restaurant?" he said and pinched my cheek.
"All right! I forgot you invited me, so you'll pay, Haha!" Then I grinned at him.
"Wait for me here a minute, Ryle," He then entered the staff office. Maybe he had friends there, what the heck, rich people.
So, while waiting for him. I checked my i********: account and I checked my notifications. Ryker liked my post on I.G again, I couldn’t believe it! So, I stalked his post.
“Hi! Stalker!" Someone spoke behind me then I turned around. Then, I saw Ryker laughing at me.
"I'm not a stalker, you were the one who followed me on IG! You're so arrogant. By the way, why are you here? Did you follow me and Axel? Ha-ha," I laughed even though it wasn't funny.
“Come on, Devyn! I know, you still love me. So, this is your chance to have a picture of me,” he said while smirking.
“Barefaced! I want to kill you now! Please, don’t ruin my day Ryker Rhett Johansen!" I said and glared at him. I wanted to push him away but he put his arm on my shoulder and photographed us with his phone.
“Why are you so elusive, sweetie! Don’t worry, I’ll upload it to i********: and I’ll mention your name,” he said with a devil laugh.
“Are you out of your mind? Don't you dare Ryker! I'm going to kill you!" I shouted at him. I was tired of arguing with him. He didn't even care. I had no hope.
“Wait, look. Do you remember this one? Ha-ha,” he laughed and showed the picture of me sleeping in his bed
“Ryker! Delete that one!" I shouted at him and then, I grabbed his phone and it accidentally fell to the floor.
I froze, I couldn't move, what should I do. I didn't have the money to buy his phone. I think his phone was Falcon Supernova iPhone 6 with a pink diamond and it was worth 48.5 million dollars.
"Hey! What are you doing? Just pick up my phone,” He yelled at me and I automatically went back to normal. Then, he slowly picked up his phone and checked if it was broken. And thanks to God, no scratches at all because of my happiness, I accidentally hugged him.
“Do you see? You play hard to get,” He said arrogantly.
“Barefaced! I'm just glad that your phone wasn't broken! That's all! Stop your fake imagination,” Then I glared at him.
"Ha-ha, I like the way you ignore me! I love disturbing you and ruining your day, sweetie!" he said and winked at me.
"Don't make fun of me! You're not funny! Stop wasting time on me! I hate you from the bottom of my heart! You got it?" I shouted at him.
"The more you hate me, the more you miss and love me. Bye for now, sweetie," Then he grinned and patted my head. I remained speechless. Then, he left laughing. And thank God Axel has arrived.
"Hey! Ryle, come on. Sorry for the wait," Axel said and pinched my cheek.
He loved doing it.
"It's okay! Where are we going?" I asked him confusingly.
"In the VIP Area," He answered briefly.
When we entered the VIP Area, all the employees bowed their heads, a sign of respect. And I didn’t expect to see Ryker and Wren across the table. And there was an old man, his face was familiar to me and an old lady too. I am ashamed of my status in life here.
"Ryle, please have a seat," Axel offered me a seat. He was very gentlemanly as Ryker in front of us kept smirking.
"Thank you!" I give him my sweetest smile.
"Son, is she your girlfriend?" the old lady asked him and I did not expect that she was his mother.
"Soon Mom, if she's willing," Axel smiled at me and I blushed.
“That's great, what’s your name, young lady?” the old man asked me.
"Rylie Devyn Scotley, Sir," I answered him slowly as I was embarrassed.
"Really? So, you are the one who got the perfect score during your entrance exam? Wow, Axel would be the lucky guy if you answered him," The old man praised.
"Ha-ha, I'll be the lucky girl, Sir, if I answer Axel but we're not meant for each other because we live in a different world," I replied shyly.
“Ryle, status in life is not important to me and my son, his happiness is important. And with that, Happy Birthday Son!” His mother greeted him. And I was speechless again because I had no idea that today was his birthday.
"Thank you Mom, I love you! And Uncle Rio, thank you for visiting even though you are a very busy person but you spend time with us. And to my cousin Rhett, I am very grateful because, for the first time in history, you are here to join me at my birthday celebration. And to you, Wren thanks also for always supporting my cousin and to my new friend and future girlfriend, Ryle! Sorry, I didn’t tell you that today is my birthday because I’m embarrassed. Ha-ha,” Axel's long message.
After Axel's long message we sang a happy birthday song and after that, we ate.
“Axe, happy birthday! My birthday present will be late,” I whispered to him.
"It's okay! Thanks in advance," He whispered as well. We both smiled and I saw Ryker's dim face. So, I behave myself.
Afterward, I received a message from him.
"Don't smile at others, Mine is mine," His message.
“I’m not yours! Don’t be so arrogant!” I replied to him with an angry emoji.
“If you continue to make me jealous, I will show Dad, our picture! Ha-ha,” then he sent a picture of me asleep and he kissed my cheek.
“Are you crazy?” I replied with angry emoticons.
"Don't tell me, he also took a picture of me while he was changing my clothes! Oh, my God!" I whispered. I was so nervous.
“Yeah! I’m crazy for you,” He replied and laughed.
Because I'm really mad at him. I asked him.
"Ryke, Is Wren your first love?" I asked him seriously. And they all stopped eating, waiting for Ryker to answer my question.
“No! Why did you ask a question Devz, if you already know the answer? Stupid question," He answered fiercely.
"Sorry, I didn't know the answer so I asked," Then I smirked at him.
"Really? You're my first love! Happy?" We were all surprised. I can’t believe Ryker will reveal his secret.
“No! I’m not happy because you’re known as “Heartbreaker”. The Heartbreaker always tells lies. Ha-ha,” then I laughed at him.
“Devyn, did you and my son have a past relationship? You seem to be close to each other," his father asked me seriously.
"No! We're not close, Sir. He always making fun of me. He loves to see me suffer. I think he is out of his mind," I seriously told him the truth.
“Devz? So, what does this picture mean? Ha-ha,” he showed us our picture. And he laughed.
"It means, you're a stalker! I was unconscious at that time but you stole a picture of me! I don't like you," I said and glared at him.
"I remember my days in college, Devz! I met my husband, Axel's father. We used to be enemies, friends, and lovers. We kept fighting over small things but at the end of the day, our love never fades away," Axel’s mother Avie shared her experience.
"Wow, I love your love story, Ma'am," I praised her.
Then, we left the restaurant with a happy face except for Ryker who was always cold and serious-faced.
Hazel Wren was also not in the mood when Ryker revealed his first love. She is a goddess on the outside but I know she keeps demons inside. I can see it in her actions.
While Axel is still the jolly man I know.
