“It’s okay. Coming to check on the business, huh?” she asked with a little smile that didn’t quite reach her eyes. I hadn’t told her about the Café because I wasn’t going to accept the offer initially. But she’d somehow managed to find out. “I’m really sorry. I was going to tell you,” I apologized immediately. “It’s alright. I was just speaking with those ladies over there. We’re thinking about setting up a soup kitchen for the foundation.
