Then he put the sandwiches together, leaving the top slices of bread next to them, ready for the sauces, and placed them on the table. “Ah, crap,” he said, stopping as he was halfway to sitting down. “I haven’t offered you a drink.” “Don’t worry. Just get your sandwich while it’s hot. To be fair, I could have made drinks while you were cooking.
