Caught in the middle of what could only be a dream

Hi, my name is Raelynn. Today is my first day of my senior year. Highschool has been one giant cluster f*ck after another. I broke up with my long term boyfriend; Jackson over the summer. We were only together for 10 months. I thought he was going to be endgame; turns out I was so wrong. He went to a football camp over the summer, and he stopped texting me, and calling me.. It turns out he fell in love with the camp chef. He didn't even have the balls to tell me until last week, after he came home from camp, and took my virginity. I have never felt so used and betrayed. F*cked me, just to dump me. COOL. I'm walking into the school doors today with my head held high, and my pony tail even higher. I am not going to let him bother me, because not only is today my last first day of high-school, but it's also my 18th birthday! My mom woke me up this morning with my favorite; banana and chocolate chip pancakes. "MMMMMM mom, these are DELICIOUS!" Mom: "Honey, you say that to just about everything I make." "Yeah mom, because you're the best!" "I know honey, now hurry up and eat your breakfast and get dressed, you don't want to be late to your first day of SENIOR YEAR!" I looked at the clock, and it was 7:45, I still had to take a shower, do my makeup, and get dressed! The bus will be here at 8:00, I have to be in homeroom by 8:45. I hurried up, and put my dishes in the sink and ran upstairs to jump in the shower. I'm careful to wash my long dark curly hair with my shampoo, and conditioner the smell of the coconut in my hair is so relaxing. Mom knocks on the bathroom door "Rae, when you're done with your shower, come downstairs, I have something for you" "But mom, I'm going to be late!" "Don't worry about it, it's your birthday! Just throw your robe on, and come down after your shower." "Okay mom, I'll be out in about 10 minutes!" I finish washing my tan slender body with my favorite coconut and honey body wash. I stepped out of the shower, and wiped the steam off the mirror. I love how my blue eyes sparkle in the sunlight shining through the window. I also notice all the freckles on my face, and take note that mom says they're a gift that everyone wishes they had. I finished drying off, and scrunching my hair back into long beautiful ringlets, and threw on my favorite purple silk robe, and fluffy slippers. I made my way down out cascading staircase. "MOM! Where are you?!" "Out back babe!" I opened the sliding door to the backyard, and had to rub my eyes! "Mom, you have got to be joking!" My mom was standing next to the most PERFECT shade of purple jeep that I have ever seen. "IS THIS MINE?! "Well of course my dear, no one loves the color purple more than you, here are the keys, check out the inside!" I opened the door, and a big whiff on new car smell filled my nostrils. I sat in the leather bound driver's seat. The most high-tech jeep I have ever seen. The inside was all leather, with purple trims. I jumped out of the car crying, "THANK YOU MOM, THANK YOU!" "You're welcome babe, now get upstairs and get ready. You get to take this bad boy to school today, but only have 30 minutes to finish getting around. Hurry up!" I rushed back inside knowing today was going to be a fantastic day! I threw on my ripped up black shorts, and threw on a white tee, and knotted it in the front so you could only see a little bit of my stomach, but not too much to be against the school rules. I grabbed my white and black chucks, threw on some makeup, and grabbed my backpack, and was out the door with 20 minutes to spare. Perfect. I can go pick up Kendra, my bestie! I can't wait to show her my new ride!
