Doubled Hate

    “A sacrifice?”asked Carmen in confusion. “What kind of sacrifice? Money?”she inquired, turning around to the other brother. 

    “No, I don’t mean that. Isn’t it obvious? Who killed our uncle? Isn’t it you, beautiful”Audrey smirked, walking closer towards her. His older brother was glaring at him from behind. He didn’t like the way his brother always talked towards her, he wouldn’t accept anyone talking to Carmen like that. “I heard you’re the famous Adrian Romano’s girlfriend”he added on purpose, teasing his brother. 

    “What did you say!”Ben screamed, pushing Carmen away and facing his brother. 

    “Just like you heard. She killed her father and is having affairs with billionaires for fame and money”he chuckled. 

    Before Ben could comprehend what he had heard, Audrey received a slap on his face, shutting him up. 

    The younger brother held his red cheek in shock and watched Carmen as she was fuming in anger. 

    She had never slapped anyone like that before. It hurt her that it was the second time someone had said this to her. First Adrian then Audrey. 

    She took a deep breath, calming herself enough to be able to talk without shaking. 

    “Listen Audrey. All of us know I didn’t mean to do it. All of us know I wouldn’t date anybody for their money because I’m not a gold digger, like your mother. She dated my uncle not out of love but out of greed. Your father, your brother and you are the murderers! You ruined my father! You turned him into a selfish monster. Wasn’t it enough what he had went through? He had lost the love of his life and your sick father took the chance to let him ruin my life! I am supposed to achieve my dreams and have a perfect life not to babysit my younger brother! I could’ve went to college and studied instead of working three part time jobs. I should’ve had an awesome father living beside me instead of visiting his grave every weekend! And you disgusting motherf*ckers ruined it all for me!”

    Carmen screamed all the anger she had been holding in for the past years. It was like a bomb that was waiting to finally explode. She didn’t realize all of the people had stopped working and was staring at the scene unfolding in front of their eyes. There weren’t so many people, just the shops owners. She didn’t even notice the Romano brothers were both staring from the other street watching with widened eyes...especially Adrian. 

    She was clutching Audrey’s neck tightly, choking him. For the first time, he was staring into her eyes with fear. It was no game this time. She was in for it. 

    “The three of us now will go to my so called uncle and get back my baby brother before you would all regret it! Your sister, my brother and I have suffered from you and I’m putting an end to this today, if you like it or not!”

    “Carmen, please leave him. You’ll kill him”Ben yelled. 

    Carmen widened her eyes upon hearing his voice. She hated the other brother even more than the one she was choking. She turned her back to Audrey, ignoring his violent coughs and stared at Ben. 

    “And you Ben! The play it innocent guy. You know you’re the most cunning person I can ever meet? You plan and plan and plan until boom! You show your true side. The f*cking murderous side. I know you’re the one who took my brother and you will be the one who is going to return him back to his home! I killed my father, protecting Cody from him and I can do it again, protecting my brother from you! I will do it to any creature alive who lays a finger on my brother!”

    “See? You admit killing your own father”he replied with a smug face. 

    “Yes I did. But I didn’t mean it, I was only protecting mine and Cody’s life.”

    Adrian was watching with shock on his face. Had the woman he left suffered that much in her life? If he had known, he would’ve came back running to save her from all the misery. 

    There was two parts in his heart. One that just wanted to hug her and let her cry on his shoulder. The other wanted to laugh that she had gotten what she deserved. 

    He glanced at his younger brother who was on the verge of tears. He was holding the car’s door tightly and biting his lips to be silent. 

    The sight was rather funny. Two men leaning on one car. One of them looked so sad and miserable and the other looked like a beast, so angry and mad. 

    Both of them walked at the same time as Carmen was entering a car. “Wait!”Adrian called out. 

    She stopped in surprise and got out, looking at them. “What are you both doing here?”she questioned. 

    “We wanted to ask some questions”Ronald said quietly. 

    “But I guess we got our answer”Adrian added, continuing his brother’s sentence. 

    “I’m sorry but I have to go now. I have something important”she smiled apologetically. 

    “We know. Let us come with you to get Cody. You can’t trust these guys”Adrian mentioned, glaring at Ben and Audrey. Ben and Adrian were both quiet, staring into each other’s eyes. They knew both of them liked the same woman and they hated it. 

    “It would’ve been better if you didn’t come at all”Ben rolled his eyes. 

    “It’s even better if you stay silent”he replied just as furious. 

    “Stop! I don’t even know why you two are arguing. Adrian please don’t get into this, it’s dangerous”Carmen walked towards him, placing a hand on his shoulder. 

    “No I’m not letting you go alone. Just as you said, it’s dangerous.”

    “Adrian?”Ben frowned ”Wasn’t this guy’s name-“

    “You can shut up!”Adrian suddenly screamed, interrupting him. “Carmen will come with us and we’ll follow your car. Lead the way”he ordered, taking Carmen’s hand and taking her to his car. Ronald walked behind them and entered the backseat. 

    “What is wrong with this stupid guy’s mind?”Ben turned to Audrey. 

    “You said it, he’s stupid. Anyways, you know him? What did you mean by your sentence?” His brother questioned. 

    Ben stared at him like he had grown two heads. Was it him who couldn’t forget him or was his memory so good? Either ways, he was sure it was the same guy from before. His hate for him now doubled. Showing up in Carmen’s life again like that was to Ben’s dismay. He thought he was finally away but he was wrong. 

    ‘I guess I will have to get rid of him’ he thought. 

    That was the only way. 

    “You too? We know this man, remember?”he scowled, entering the car and started driving. 

    “Thanks for the offer but I’ll take my own car!”Audrey shouted after him, sarcastically.
