Cassian glanced back at Brent, visibly irked, so Alex was quick to do damage-control. He put on a wide smile and approached him. “Is that for me?” he excitedly asked, holding the box in Cassian's hands and making sure their fingers touched. A little flirting would probably do some good. “I figured I should bring something,” Cassian answered, finally turning his attention to Alex as he was led into the apartment. “It’s just cake.” “Ooh, nice!
