Chapter 15By the time I was up, had used the bathroom, and gotten dressed Saturday morning it was almost eight. I heard sounds from downstairs, a door opening and closing and then the clicking of R-2’s claws on the kitchen floor. I suspected he and Alan had returned from their morning walk. They had, as I found out when I joined them. Laird was already there and eating, one bowl full of wet food that Alan had given him. R-2 was also chowing down which left me and Alan to decide what we wanted for breakfast. “I opt for going to the diner,” Alan told me. “Not that we can’t eat here, but I think we should show ourselves.
