I settle back into the white room I found myself in earlier. At least this time I have some control over the situation. I grip my hands together, hoping this plan will work. The alternative is unthinkable. I can’t leave Kerina to be locked up again. Besides, I made her a promise and that is one thing I always keep.
The door opens and the familiar Agent enters.
‘Your company was so pleasant I decided to come back for more,’ I say.
The Agent sits opposite me. ‘I’m told you would not give a name upon arrest.’
‘I’ll give my name when it’s warranted. It wasn’t.’
‘You don’t think breaking into a contained area makes the request warranted?’
I shake my head. ‘I wasn’t breaking in, just lost.’
The Agent raises an eyebrow. ‘Again?’
‘I’m really bad with direction.’
