Ty hugged her and he rubbed her back until he could feel she had calmed down, before he made her sit down on the bed and then pulled her dressing table stool closer and sat down on it. “I was trying to be the man and show you that I was the authority in our relationship and that I have the final say because my dad got walked over by my mom, and instead I pushed you away and I only saw it now when the whole time I thought you were the only one being wrong.”
Skye nodded and she tucked her hair in behind her ear.
“Ty! Dad said you have to come downstairs!” Eden called from down the hallway.
Ty looked at Skye and then waited until Eden appeared in the doorway. “Why?”
“Uncle Samuel and Aunt Karla brought you something, and they're joining us for the next week or two because their central heating unit has a nest in. It's one of our endangered species of birds, so they're not allowed to remove it themselves, and the central heating guys can only clean it up and fix it once the bird sanctuary is able to come out and remove the birds.” Eden said.
Skye squealed and she stood up and then looked at her husband when he took her hand.
“They are spending two weeks here.” Ty said.
“Yeah.” Eden said. “I will tell them you need a few minutes.”
“Thanks little brother.” Ty said and he smiled when Eden closed the door and he looked at Skye who was pulling a pout again. “Sit down on your bum or I'm going to find out what they brought while you stay put in the room until we finished this discussion because otherwise it is not going to get finished.”
Skye nodded and she sat down before moving deeper in and crossing her legs. “I just want to go and say hello.”
“I know, but I'm sure they'll understand that we need to finish this before it gets pushed aside and forgotten, okay.” Ty said. “And I'm sure your dad will tell them that we need to sort out some important issues before it breaks us. So are you going to sulk and I walk out for fifteen or so minutes to give you time to get over it, or are you going to get over it now and we can go down and say hello together?”
Skye looked at him and then wiped her cheeks. “I have not seen my aunt for a year.”
“Yes I know.” Ty said. “But ten minutes more isn't going to hurt. Drop the pout or I walk out.”
Skye looked at him and took a deep breath, and she tried to breathe deeply to get her emotions under control. “I just want a hug from my aunt.”
Ty looked at her and he wiped her cheeks before he stood up and left the room. He went downstairs and to the kitchen when he heard the adults there.
“Where's Skye?” Arend asked when he saw Ty.
“In her room.” Ty said.
“Okay?” Arend said.
“She needs to calm down so I can finish talking to her.” Ty said. “She is trying. Really trying.”
“But.” Arend asked.
“Her anxiety levels are peaking again.” Ty said and he took the kitten from Amily. “Thanks Amily.”
“You are welcome. We brought her one as well.” Amily said. “We did not know you had found her a kitten.”
Ty smiled and he took the second kitten that Karla handed him and he gave her a hug before he moved out of the way. “I will bring them upstairs just now.”
Karla nodded and she left the kitchen.
Ty looked at the kittens and he smiled when Samuel hugged him.
“It is okay to be unsure how to handle something, and it is okay to walk out when you do not know how to handle something, or to give in when you do not want to appear harsh.” Samuel said softly and he rubbed the young man’s back. “Rather walk out because you are unsure than snap and explode because what you are doing is not working.”
Ty nodded and he smiled when Amily handed him some tissues and he wiped his cheeks.
“Now man up just a little, just enough so you do not sound like you are going to flood the entire country.” Samuel said. “And then go and talk to your wife, get this sorted out and then we will watch movies.”
Ty nodded and he took a deep breath and then took the glass of water Arend handed him. “Thanks dad.”
“You are welcome. Mom is making coffee.” Arend said.
Ty smiled and he drank his water and then took a deep breath, held it for a few seconds and then exhaled.
“There we go.” Samuel said. “Go on, before Celia comes back in from seeing the puppies.”
“And you have a minute or two.” Amily said.
Ty smiled and he left the kitchen and then went up the stairs again and to Skye’s bedroom. He closed the door behind him and then laid the kittens on her lap and smiled when she squealed.
“My kitty.” Skye said and she picked them both up and hugged them close.
“One is from Celia’s cat, the other one is your rescue.” Karla said and she lifted the young woman’s head up and wiped her cheeks. “Your uncle and your cousins are just as eager to see you as I was, but they are going to give you all the time you need to sort out this mess because we have had young couple issues with Amily and her best friend-boyfriend just a week ago.”
“Is Tev here?” Sky asked.
“No.” Karla said. “Tev agreed that a little separation time would do them both good and it would also mean a little freedom because they have been clashing a lot because their friend groups are a little jealous of the relationship they have had since Amily was nine, so they have been organizing events in such a way that the two of them had to either ditch their friends or each other and neither sat well with the two of them. So we sorted it out and Tev will be talking to his friends and then Amily has to talk to her friends once we get back home.”
Skye nodded and she petted her kittens.
“Enough stalling.” Karla said and she kissed her niece’s head before she squeezed Ty’s shoulder and left, closing the door behind her.
Ty gave his wife a few minutes to pet the kittens before he picked them up and placed them in the carrier that has been sitting on the couch and then he sat down next to her. “Drop the pout.”
“You just took my kittens away.” Skye said.
“Yes.” Ty said. “They are new and they are now taking your attention away from what is important in this moment.”
“Sorry.” Skye said and she took a deep breath and then began giggling.
“What is so funny?” Ty asked.
“You look so serious and like you are about to give me a death sentence.” Skye said.
Ty smiled and he stood up and kissed her full on her mouth. “Now stop giggling because this is serious, although I love that you just spontaneously began giggling again.”
Skye smiled and she bit her lip and closed her eyes and tried to compose herself. “I cannot do this.”
“Yes you can.” Ty said and he watched her face and then began tickling her when he saw she was really battling to keep it in and he tickled her and enjoyed her squeals and laughter until she squirmed when he tickled her. He lay down next to her and kissed her softly on her nose before he tucked her hair in behind her ear. “I was wrong for not considering that your anxiety levels will be higher than usual with the change that was already happening in your life just with the baby, before we got married, when I wanted you to move into my room instead of moving into yours right after we got married, and I am sorry. I will move into your room for the winter but as soon as it is warmer, we are moving out and we are redecorating so it can be our room, and not just yours.”
Skye nodded and she touched his chest. “I am sorry for not telling you how I felt.”
“It is okay, because chances are I would have taken it the wrong way in anyway.” Ty said and he wiped her cheeks. “No more tears, I think we have both had enough tears for now.”
Skye smiled and she moved closer and kissed him softly. “I love you, Tyler Junior Alden.”
“I love you more.” Tyler said and he smiled when she smiled just as he kissed her which made for a rather awkward kiss. “By the way, how do you feel about having your uncle’s surname?”
“I am okay with it because they are my godparents.” Skye said. “And I definitely prefer it above a French surname that makes every other girl swoon because I married tech genius Bernard La Noir’s very hot son.”
“You are so funny.” Tyler said and he ran his fingers lightly up her leg before he gave her a territory claiming kiss. “You are so soft and chewy.”
“You make me sound like a toffee.” Skye said softly and she bit her lip when he kissed her neck just below her ear while resting his hand in a very sensitive area. She placed her hand in his neck at his ear when he released her lip from her teeth with his own lips and she enjoyed his mouth playing with hers. She laid her hands on her belly but knew her eyes begged for more when he kissed her again.
“You are irresistible when you finally give in, Skylar Tanziah Raven Alden.” Ty said softly and he got his hand in under the hoodie and allowed his hand freedom when she did allow him it. He pulled the hoodie right before he kissed her full on her mouth again after a few minutes. “I am so in love with you, amazing beautiful angel.”
Skye smiled and she laid her hand on her belly and then closed her eyes when he kissed her softly on the bridge of her nose and it took her a mere moment to fall asleep when he lingered there.
Ty kissed her slightly open mouth again when her breathing changed telling him she was sleeping and then he got up carefully. He got the kittens from their carrier and placed them in the cat mansion in the corner before he left the room quietly after cleaning the rest of the bed. He went downstairs and smiled when Celia squealed and hugged him tightly.
“Do not tell me you still have not sorted out your issues.” Samuel teased.
“She is sleeping.” Ty said and he wiped Celia’s cheeks. “Hey, I have dealt with enough tears for the next week, thank you very much.”
“But I missed you.” Celia said. “You are my big brother, even though dad never officially adopted you.”
“I know.” Ty said. “But I did take on your dad’s surname because I needed to get away from the fame of my dad’s surname.”
Celia smiled and she hugged him again before she let him go.
“Do we have to wait for Skye to wake up before we can watch movies?” Adrieka asked.
“She is probably only going to take a nap for about a half an hour, and currently you are covered in butter and flour.” Karla said. “We can just put egg wash on you and then put you in the oven.”
“Hmmm, sweet little girl pastries.” Arend said.
Adrieka shook her head. “I am not a pastry.”
“Then you need to go and bath before we turn you into a pastry.” Cartia said. “Ask Kendri to help you bath.”
Adrieka nodded and she climbed off the chair and ran out.
Ty smiled and he took the mug from Cartia. “Thanks mom.”
“You are welcome.” Cartia said. “Where are you and Skye sleeping tonight?”
“In her room.” Ty said. “I said we can sleep in her room until it starts warming up and then we will move into the spare room again and turn her room into our room.”
“A very wise decision.” Arend said. “Why did you have to c***k to realize that?”
“Pride, bad example.” Ty said. “But I am going to be working on considering my wife with her anxiety instead of just throwing the anxiety out as something that only happens at school.”
“Finally.” Eden said.
“What do you mean?” Ty asked.
“The amount of anxiety attacks she has is linked to what happened at home that morning and the evening before.” Micah said. “We were busy doing what you could call a study before we mentioned it and we were really close to confirming our theory. If she walks out of here with a pout or in a bad mood, she has almost double the average amount of anxiety attacks, especially if dad drops her off at school.”
“And when I drop her off at school and she is in a decent mood?” Ty asked.
“Average around three to four anxiety attacks a day, so let’s say a normal day is where everyone just does their part, and it does not matter who drops her off at school, you or dad, because you are late.” Eden said. “On a cheery morning we have about one to two anxiety attacks at school, sometimes she has three but school circumstances affect it as well. If she walks out of here upset or mad, she has an anxiety attack every time she hears someone raising their voices or every time her teacher asks her something a second time. We have gotten to the point where Micah or I will make sure we are the last in the line and drop her teacher a note with our homework when we enter the class if she is having a bad day which then tells them not to ask her a question unless she raises her hand.”
“Fair enough.” Ty said. “I need you guys to drop me a message if she is having a bad day, whether it is because we had a disagreement that morning, or just because she is having a tough day because they will increase, so that I can be home and be there if she needs me. I know we have agreed that I can be out until six on the latest every night from Monday to Thursday without informing anyone like the morning or the night before as long as I say where I am going to be and with who so that she knows who to call if she does not get a hold of me or so that mom and dad knows who to call, but I also need to be there for my wife when she is having a tough time, and she needs to learn how to communicate her feelings when she feels them rather than just pour out everything at once when she snaps like she has been doing, and we go to different schools so I do not see her until after school and I have agreed to not call her until after school because our classes do not match up so I have no idea if she looks down or looks happy unless someone informs me or until I get home and sees her.”
“We can do that.” Micah said. “Just do not tell her right now because then she will avoid us when she is not feeling hundred percent, and she can hide it very well as long as she does not speak, and since she got diagnosed with selective mutism at seven, it has made sense why she would just stop talking for weeks at a time to certain people without even putting much effort in.”
“I know.” Ty said and he placed his mug in the sink. “But in the same time, you guys have the freedom to just send me a message and inform me, whereas her teachers do not have that freedom because it will be said to be interfering with personal affairs.”
“We are aware of that.” Micah said.
“Food is here!” Amily called from the entry parlor.
“Who did you guys bribe to bring food?” Ty asked.
“No one. The snow plough is out on the roads so we called the local KFC and they said they will be able to deliver around eight and since Skye was really wanting spicy chicken last night at like ten, I decided to order some tonight.” Arend said.
Ty nodded and he smiled when Skye came in and kissed her uncle’s cheek before coming to him and snuggling up with him. “Did you have a nice little cat nap, kitten?”
Skye nodded and she yawned. “I woke up when I heard food.”
“I would think that is the only thing that brought you down so quickly after you fell asleep.” Ty said and he kissed her head. He played with her hair and smiled when she twisted it up and secured it with a butterfly clasp that was lying on the window sill behind them when Arend came in with their food.
“Skye.” Cartia said.
“Mom, leave her.” Ty said. “She always clips her hair up if we have takeaways unless it is in a ponytail.”
“So do I.” Micah said. “Mine is just in a ponytail at the moment.”
“Okay.” Cartia said and she left the kitchen and whistled sharply which had the rest of her kids in the kitchen very quickly except for Kendri. “Kendri Raven!”
“I am coming.” Kendri coming down the stairs with her hair brush. “I had just started blow drying my hair.”
“Okay.” Cartia said and she went back into the kitchen.
Arend said grace and then handed the food out and he smiled when Skye peeked into her box before he got a surprised look.
“You got me spicy wings daddy.” Skye said.
“You wanted them last night.” Arend said. “So I took the chance and ordered you some tonight.”
“You are the best. Thank you.” Skye said and she got herself planted at the counter before she dove into the box of chicken.
“Can we go and watch movie since Skye is awake?” Adrieka asked.
“After supper.” Arend said. “And I think we will have to go watch in the family room with Uncle Samuel and Aunt Karla being here with your cousins.”
“Okay.” Adrieka said.
Ty smiled at his father-in-law and then finished his burger before he wiped his hands and laid his left hand on Skye’s belly before he began eating his chips. “How are your wings, angel?”
Skye looked at him and then put the bones down with a pout. “Finished.”
Ty smiled and he kissed her softly on her ear. “If you keep on pouting like that…”
Skye turned to him and she gave him her best pout and giggled when he gave her a warning look.
“Someone is looking for trouble.” Karla said.
“Yeah, and if she does not start behaving, I am sending her to bed early without ice cream or other snacks.” Ty said and he finished his chips before he looked at his wife. He stood up when he saw she was lost in thought and he washed his hands before he went back to her and then wrapped his arms around her shoulders and leaned closer to her ear. “I need to have a word with you when you are done eating.”
Skye looked up at him and then closed her empty box and she stood up when he let her go. She threw it in the dustbin and then kissed her dad’s cheek before she left with her husband and went up to their room and she climbed on the bed when he closed the door. “What did I do?”
“I appreciate the fact that you are allowing me close and allowing me to tease you again, but giving me a pout when I am saying if you keep on pouting, and then do not get time to finish my sentence even, is looking for trouble.” Ty said.
Skye nodded and she stood up and pulled her hoodie over her head before she wrapped her arms around his neck. “Maybe I knew what you wanted to say.”
“Skye.” Ty said softly and he kissed her when she scratched his neck softly. “You are seven months pregnant.”
“I know.” Skye said softly and she moved her hands down to his stomach when he kissed her passionately. She smiled when he moved into her neck before the rest of their clothes started flying after she had to reassure him.
