Chapter 9

Killian I hadn't seen him for almost a week. Sure, we talked a lot and texted, but it wasn't the same. I wasn't there to see him smile. The last bell for the first day of the week. I had just left my locker and was walking to the front entrance when I happened upon a conversation. It didn't strike me at first until one of the girls said, 'beautiful cross dresser'. I slowed my pace as she continued. "I didn't even realize until one of his co-workers started talking about her with male pronouns." She sounded so amazed. "I asked him for a picture. On his name tag, it said that his name was Ezra." Yep, it was him. I strolled back towards them. "Where did you meet him?" I asked. They seemed startled by my approach but answered me anyway. "At the mall in a small store named Maria's." The girl with the green eyes said. I smiled at them and muttered my thanks. I turned, and speed walked to my car. Once I was inside and driving, I may have violated at least fifteen laws. Matters not. I thought the 'small store' would be difficult to find, but all I had to was follow the trail of giggling females. The doors of the store hadn't opened yet but as the thought crossed my mind the closed sign flipped. The double doors were gently pulled open and the ladies flocked in. When I finally entered, I was shocked. Okay, the was unique and I know that I should be paying more attention to that, but my eyes were stuck on a creature. His platinum blonde hair was down, his lips shinning pink and stretched into a smile. He looked beautiful in his uniform, not that he wasn't always beautiful. When he saw me, his face lit up and his pale lips stretched wider. He let a high-pitched squeal and made a beeline coming towards me. When he was just in front of me, he jumped. I saw his intention and opened my arms just in time. I held onto his thighs and lifted him so that he could wrap his legs around me. "Hi Kian!" He exclaimed. At this point everyone was staring at us, but I didn't mind, and he didn't seem to either. "Hi Ezzy." I greeted as I nuzzled his soft blonde hair under my nose. He started rubbing his face on my collarbone, a soft rumbling purr resounding. "I missed you." He sighed. I was about tell him the same when someone cleared their throat in front of us. I looked up to see a tall and muscular boy in front of us. His grey eyes were hard as he glared at me. I looked around and noticed that the women had quickly lost interest in us and were now listening intently to a pair of twins. "Who is he Ezra?" The guy asked. Ezra stiffened for a second before relaxing. "He's my boyfriend." He said as he raised his head, looking me in the eye for conformation. I nodded. "I'm his boyfriend." I said as he smiled which made me smile in turn. "Do you want to introduce us?" He asked. I saw the blush stain Ezra's cheeks because he realized that he didn't introduce us. "Seth, this is my boyfriend Killian." He said, motioning to me. "Hi." I greeted but received a hard stare. "Killian, this is one of my best friends Seth." The boy said nothing but that didn't bother me as much as he thought it would. I followed Ezra around while he worked. He eventually introduced me to his other best friends Paige and Sage. They - much like Seth - glared me down when Ezra wasn't looking. It was amusing. They were behaving like territorial puppies. When his shift ended, I asked him if I could take him home. He said yes with a 'duh' kind of tone in his voice. I could feel the three heated glares on my back as I escorted him to the parking lot. As he finished buckling in and I was pulling out of the lot, he began to talk about the thing that my mom was having in two weeks. I was trying to listen, but I was swept away by the soft and invitingly light tide that was his voice. He was speaking so enthusiastically and if I wasn't driving, I would give him my full attention. It wasn't long before I pulled up to his house. Before he could move to get out, I hopped out and went his door. I opened it and took his small hands in my own and looked up into his blushing face. "I didn't want us to be boyfriends like that. I had hoped to ask you in the most romantic way that I could think of when you accompanied to that thing." I said. "Umm..." His cheeks were cherry red as he sat there flustered. "Will you be my boyfriend?" I asked. He was stunned, and it was obvious that he hadn't expected it. But, as the shock wore off and it hit him, his eyes glazed over like he was about to cry. I was about to ask him why bit he shut me up with a soft kiss. Again, it didn't last long but it was perfect. Once he pulled back, he nodded his head frantically, making me smile. He's beautiful.
