CHAPTER 23 ELIZABETH The lobby of the King’s Hotel and Casino was simply majestic. The walls were painted a tasteful cream color, with abstract art framed on the walls. Mosaic marble tiles outlined my steps and met each press of my heels with a loud ‘clack’. Gold highlighted the chrome bars at the ticket booths and crowned the stands on either side of the entrance to the casino.
