Chapter 20Cameron looked toward the back of the diner, expecting to see Jessie and Sadie sauntering his direction. But instead of the two friends laughing, when there was only one of them, his heart stuttered.
“Did you find her?” he asked, keeping a tight rein on his temper.
“I did.” A concerned look crossed Sadie’s face. “We thought we heard someone coming, so she sent me ahead.”
