Three days after leaving the hospital, Jessie planned to spend the morning at her home away from home. She’d arrived just as Sonny was smoothing the previous night’s grooves with the Zamboni, and once her skates were on, stepped on the ice and flew. But no matter how many times she circled the rink, her thoughts refused to settle.
