My body ached as though it had been trampled on by elephants. Was I still in the cave? I shot up, panicked, looking around wildly, ready to fight a rogue. I was in my chambers. I glanced around, startled to see Mama Tasmina in an armchair beside me, with Leela sitting in the other.
“How…” I croaked, my throat dry and cracked.
Sakina came bursting through the doors.
“You f*cking asshole, you had me worried sick,” she screamed, tears streaming down her face.
My eyes widened. Why was she crying? Leela held her as she wept and Mama Tasmina lifted a cup for me to drink water. I tried speaking again after sipping.
“I… we only went for a hunt, sunshine. I… they were going to kill my brothers… wait, how did you get me out of the cave? How did you know I was there?”
