Chapter 16 Mist rose from the Ohio River. Robert, Daniel and the rest of the hostages sat astride their horses, waiting for the arrival of Simon Kenton and those that he would bring to the exchange. Blue Jacket, Red Horse and a bevy of braves stood with them. They were armed with spears and bows. Robert and Daniel were dressed in the white man’s clothing they had worn when they first arrived in Chillicothe. Day Star wore her beaded, Shawnee, deer skin dress. “Maybe they won’t come,” Daniel said hopefully. Just as his words floated on the breeze, a group of white men, lead by Simon Kenton, came out of the forest. They, too, were armed. They carried muskets.
