"Could you stop your act?" Miller let my body go away from his own. I guessed he felt uneasy because of the spontaneous reaction to me hugging him tightly.
"Ahh sorry!" I replied with a smile.
If I wasn't having nightmares, I would get out of emotion and protest by telling his rudeness to either of our parents.
"I hope you stop being rude. I'm willing to grant you a favor,"
"Nonsense."
I was putting my foot on the floor and breathing slowly. After having a nightmare, I felt free to fly over. The heart was not heavier than before.
However, I was still confused and questioning my own self about the nightmares even I failed to think of. it affected me a lot to do something I had forgotten, otherwise I would be regretting.
"You'd better believe in me. I will fulfill your wishes, so try to befriend me instead."
"I'm your friend after all."
I turned around to Miller sitting next to my bed with a book in hand.
That he was constantly doing. Reading a business book was the main activity due to leading his family's business away, replacing his father.
"You remain to consider me as your friend though we will get married soon."
"I wish I could see you change your manner afterwards!"
"What do you expect me to change?"
"You… I would like you to not treat me as a place for you to rely on."
Miller had closed the pages of the book. As usual, he walked quickly away from where I was. Yet, it was a bit different from before. Somehow, I felt my heart had no reaction to the pain, since he treated me rudely. I was wondering about how my feelings were ongoing.
I began to set foot outside of my private room. I walked out along the staircase and both of our family were still gathering.
"At least, he's becoming the 10 richest people in the world."
"I have no doubt that he is Cesar Wang since success holding many companions in this country. His ownership must be countless anyway."
I heard both my parents talking to each other and somehow I felt sorry for them. I thought it might be because of my bad manners for pushing them, granting all I wanted to.
"Baby, have you gotten up?" My mother turned to me when I was walking toward them, and so did my father and Miller's parents.
"Mother, stop calling me baby! I have grownup to mature and soon to be marrying to Miller,"
"Of course, before Miller takes you away, I am supposed to call you as I want. You are the only daughter of Murphy."
My father said, along with me sitting next to him.
" I'm not a child,"
"You will forever be my child, Zoe!"
"Father, you are overprotective." I was pretending to be exasperated towards my father, and turned my eyes to the channel on screen.
"Zoe will always be our child,"
"No mother, I bet she won't admit you as her mother, though we married later."
"Miller, stop to overthinking,"
"Don't harass him, Gerry. Sometimes I need to teach Zoe how to behave well. Miller's words are actually the truth.
"Baby, what's going on?" I turned my gaze to my mother who had just called me and I saw every single person in the room was in shock looking towards me, even Miller, who would never care about me before.
"How could…"
"What on earth am I?"
"See! Why are you supposed to be crying without any reason?" I looked at my face when the phone's camera was on. I began to wipe off these tears of mine which were rolling down regarding my heart being in pain.
"It all may be about her having nightmares. She changes her attitude afterwards."
"Oh yeah, but I don't see any changes." I tried to hold off my forehead pain while my mother was talking to Miller.
"I'm wondering about the man standing on stage over there."
"Ahh.. Cesare Wang? I bet you adore him since he is a very popular person."
"Oh…" My father was getting curious.
"And I bet he will never get in touch with you, even if you are struggling till your blood bleeds out."
"Miller, don't be so rude! Zoe is your fiance after all."
I respected Miller's mother defending me through the rudeness Miller was doing. I was supposed to treat her better because she deserved it.
"I'm used to…"
"Ahh I'm sorry, Zoe,"
"No, Auntie, you don't have to feel sorry since either of us have known each other."
"Instead of making a fuss, you preferred to take Zoe to pick Hanna up to school! We are supposed to be gathering to talk about some good news."
That was Miller's father's order and both Miller and I went out to get along. It might have been like a date, though I was the only one who felt happy.
"What else?" Miller asked me when I picked to sit in the front of the car's seat.
"Ahh, okay!" I responded to the question by setting foot in the back of the car's seat. Somehow, I felt he really expected me to stay away.
I went into the car and closed the door after all.
Tok!
Yet, Miller knocked on the door, getting me confused more and more. He forced me to open the windshield.
"What's else, Miller? Don't you expect to sit in front? Or do you even hope for me to use someone else's car?"
"You closed the door and locked it up."
"So why?"
"Are you going crazy? Do you expect them to scold me?"
I was forced to open the door and move my body, giving half of the seat to Miller.
"Since when did you dare to lock the door?"
"I have no idea."
Indeed, I almost failed to think of it. It rarely happened to me avoid Miller, since I was the person who I wished to get along with.
"You're acting weird."
I kept my lips silent and threw my gaze out of the car. Somehow, I felt supposed to go away from Miller for some reasons I didn't ever know about.
***
We were waiting for Hanna, Miller's younger sister, to leave her class. Her big university was a place I studied before.
I recalled all the activities I had done over there. That reminded me of the first time I realized these feelings of mine toward Miller.
"I have no patience to get married to you anyway." I began to open my lips out of words.
"Don't talk about such useless topics!" However, I got his response disliking me.
Tookk!
"You are here!" The melting voice of a woman sounded from outside the car.
I turned my face to her when Miller opened the door next to him and went out to talk to her.
I figured I knew about her, though I couldn't get anything. My heart felt sick a lot when I saw her smiling warmly at Miller, and so did he.
"Who's the person in your car?"
"She's my old friend."
For some reason I didn't get to know about, I would like to avoid them. It was not about me being jealous or somewhat. I just felt that I had no right to be meddling in their business.
"Hi, Zoe, I'm Irene!" Looked like she would like to know about me.
"I'm Zoe!" And in the end, I greeted her humbly with a smile.
"Zoe, would you like to let me have words with Miller eye to eye? We have such important things to discuss."
"It's better to talk about them later, Irene."
"But now I need you more, Miller."
"I get it, but…"
"Okay!" Miller, standing back to me, began to turn around towards me. "What?"
"You…"
"She needs you, why don't you try to get in touch?" I smiled smoothly at Miller because I saw his eyes begin to widen.
I figured out the reason he looked startled responding to me.
"Come on, Miller!"
"You can go back earlier!" It looked like Miller wouldn't like to be troubled by me. I bet he must like the woman so much.
"Okay!" I followed his order by closing the door. "Now get back!"
The trusting driver of Miller's family began to drive me back to my home and again, for some reason, I made myself relieved to stay away from Miller, though I figured my feelings for him wasn't gonna to change yet.
There was a point when my mind began to think about a person. He wasn't Miller yet, the person I had just seen on channel.
Cesar Wang filled all my mind. I guessed that I must be his big fan.
"Pull back!" I ordered the driver to stop the car by a tall building when I saw the person in my mind get out of his car.
"Ahh Lady…"
I ignored the driver calling me because I felt it was very important to see him. After getting out of the car, I ran hurriedly through many people to the person I would like to know more.
My heart got goosebumps and these feelings of happiness filled it around. I remained to run and set my footsteps for a man I longed for a lot.
Our gaze found each other and I liked to see his eyes more than his physical body.
"Mr Wang, do you know her?" A person next to the man asked a question, yet he kept silent.
"Mr Wang,"
It looked like he knew me as well, since there was no reaction to the person asking him.
"Mr Wang,"
"I have no idea." The man began to answer, but he still let me look into his eyes.
"Cesar Wang, Let's get married and go on a date!" I proposed some crazy things I felt like I was supposed to do.
"Hmm yeah!"
