We had to stop by in a wine store on our way to the bar. I wanted to just stay in the car, but he insisted that I should go with him to choose which we should buy.
"Aren't we going to the bar? Why do we have to bring wine?" He looked at the bottles like it was so precious. My father used to be so fond of collecting wines before too, but Sean looks more interested.
"This is my profound appreciation to my teammates who did their best today. I haven't played for so long, but we still won." He can't stop smiling. Seeing him in a good mood made me feel happy too. It's not always that he's smiling this wide.
He stopped in front of a 1,150-dollar-worth wine. His affectionate look as he was scanning it stunned me. He loves wine that much?
"I'll get this." He murmured to the man beside him. He didn't even think twice. What's the purpose of taking me with him here when he's already an expert in choosing wine? I rolled my eyes when he looked at me.
"Choose anything you want. I'll buy it for you." It's not even my birthday or anything. And perhaps, I'm not interested with different types of wine. As long as it makes me drunk, I'm fine with it.
"No, thanks." I answered. Witnessing him spend so much in a deluxe place like this should not surprise me. The man himself looks expensive from the way he stands to the way he flips that check. What's attractive in that? I interact with the richest of people in the society, and none of them catches my attention the way my stepbrother does. I melt in the way he looks, and that annoyingly feels good. Those sharp eyes and finality in his voice are so damn attractive.
I chuckled when I saw the way he carried that box as we went out of the shop. He treated it like a baby that's fragile and precious.
"Do you love wine that much?" I asked sarcastically when he put it at the backseat and even fixed the seatbelt for it.
"Yes. But I love you more." He shut the door and went in to the driver's seat. He should not see me blushing.
"Where's your driver?" I asked when he recklessly pulled out the car from parking. He kept checking the wine at the back from time to time.
"I drive for myself when I'm doing my personal affairs. Seeing him reminds me how busy I should be, so I choose to give him a break in the house." When we are already in the highway, his driving became moderate.
"Why did you choose to be a womanizer instead of sticking with one woman? Are you still not over that woman who shot you in the chest?" I clearly saw how his reaction changed from calm to irritated. I don't need words, his answer is definitely yes.
"f*****g is better than investing time with cheaters." His uncouth words made me uncomfortable.
"You are just afraid to fall over again that's why you refuse to trust women. Are you happy to be fooling with girls? You're not young anymore." He glanced at me. He gave that sharp look that made me shake.
"I took the risk with you, Chunsa, because I'm no longer afraid. Don't talk about my side chics as I'm trying to change now."
"It's okay. What we have is something that won't last. It should be fine with you if I talk about Warren because it's totally fine with me if you talk about the models and actresses that you're dating. I'll be willing to listen too if you want to talk about the woman who did..."
"Stop going back to that time. I already forgot about her, so refuse to mention her." If he's still this bitter for her, he surely has some feelings left; either it's hatred or love, only Sean knows.
He was cold when we got in the bar. He shut the door when he left while I'm watching carefully his reaction. My impatient stepbrother leaned on the car while waiting for me to start walking ahead.
The place is not just the typical bar. It's a high-end club that is reserved exclusively for Sean's team. The people inside looks the same age as Sean and well-acquainted with him. He introduced me to every person he meets inside although I can feel that he's still fussing after I mentioned his ex-lover a while ago.
I settled in a sofa alone when Sean went with his friends. They were in the middle of the dance floor enjoying the beat like young kids. Not long after I asked for a tequila, I saw that man surrounded with girls. He was touching them at the back... actually it's almost the butt he's touching. Then he whispered something to the lady in red. How I hate the sight of them.
Sean snapped his fingers and the lights went off. The place was filled with coloful laser lights and earsplitting music. I can no longer see Sean from the darkness. Maybe that's what he really wants; to show me that I am just one of the women he bedded.
My phone rang, and I already knew it's Warren. I didn't accept the call. Instead, I sent a message saying that I'm still busy with office works. He can't know where I am with Sean.
My eyes roamed around to look for him, but all I can see are his friends. I was just sitting idly there for half an hour while getting myself drown in alcohol. I stood when they turned on the lights. I can finally go to the bathroom. Before I take any steps farther, I saw Sean sitting with his friends kissing a woman. His hand was caressing her legs slowly as if teasing her.
I walked to their direction and crossed my arms in my chest. In the middle of their table is the expensive wine he bought almost empty.
"Excuse me." My voice was full of authority. That made Sean stopped slowly and let go of that woman. His eyes were sleepy, but still dark when he glared at me.
"Sorry to interrupt, but I have to go. You can have fun all night, Sean. Congratulations on winning your baseball game today." I tried to make eye contact with his other friends, but I felt crying that moment.
I was taken aback when he stood as well. All his friends looked up to him.
"We have to head first. Drink to your heart's content tonight. It will be on me." He put up his glass to make a toss.
The woman he was kissing did cling into his neck. He gave her a passionate kiss and they fell on the sofa. I started walking away.
I was already outside the bar waiting for a taxi when Sean followed. I can smell the woman's perfume on him. I took several steps away, so I won't have to smell him or even see him in my peripheral view. He's disgusting.
"It's a great idea to take a taxi. We both can't drive." I was shocked when he's already beside me. I took several steps away from him again.
"Why?" He asked. I don't want to even just talk to him. He brought me here then left me in one corner after introducing me to his friends. It's just 7 PM, but I'm already exhausted.
"What's your problem?" He asked again.
Gladly, there's a taxi that stopped in front of me. I opened it hurriedly and I was about to shut the door when pulled it open.
"Take another taxi. I'm not comfortable to be around you now." I said coldly. He didn't listen to me and entered. I cussed, but he didn't seem to listen. He gave the address to the driver. I saw how shocked the driver is to see the address.
"I can only drive you to the entrance of the subdivision, sir. We are not allowed inside."
"It's okay. I'll talk to the guard." He then closed his eyes and put his head on my shoulder. I pushed it away, but he put it again there.
"Move away from me!" I shouted.
"It's so crowded here. No space to move away."
"Damn you!"
"Are you jealous of that woman?" His question made me more annoyed.
"Why would I?"
"You sound sarcastic. If I can remember it right, you said earlier that it's okay if I talk about my side chics. I thought it's also alright if I flaunt my affair with them to you." There was a stinging pain in my heart when he said it casually. Now I sound more like a secret affair.
"O-of course. Do whatever the hell you want to do, Sean. I got Warren, so it will be unfair if I restrict you from kissing other women."
"Don't mention his name when you're with me." The warning in that sentence gave me goosebumps.
"Don't tell me what to do." His left arm wrapped around my waist and that sinful hand caressed my waist up and down. I tried to remove it, but he won't allow it.
"I can ruin not just your relationship if I get annoyed, Chunsa. I am bad enough, rich enough and so down in love for you to be capable of ruining his name and career too. Don't dare me." I tilted my head to the left when he's about to kiss me in the lips. Not after he kissed that model a while ago.
"You're so filthy in my eyes."
"And so you are, Chunsa. I despise cheaters, but I love you exclusively." I closed my eyes when I felt strange when he continued what his hands were doing.
"Stop, Sean."
"Alright. We can resume at home." He dirtily claimed. The driver gave us an awkward look.
