Who is it?
Louisa’s POV
I was on my knees, and sitting across from me in the rowdy clubhouse was the wealthiest, most powerful Alpha in the whole realm.
But he was also my husband.
At least in my previous life he was.
Before, I caught him cheating with my best friend’s sister and they connived to kill me. Now, he was my ruthless boss.
And the strangest part?
He looked exactly the same. Same face I’d recognize anywhere. Same eyes and same f*****g name.
But this Eric Breeze was a werewolf.
Up until today, I didn’t even know such a world existed. Werewolves were a myth, and I lived in the real world, with real people. But things changed for me in the blink of an eye.
Now, I live among them. I was still human, but everyone I thought I knew from my past life was a werewolf now.
How did I end up here?

I burst out of the house in a rush. I didn’t even notice I was wearing two completely different pairs of slippers as I jumped straight into the car and drove out of the compound.
My head was in turmoil, my heart beating so fast, it felt like it would jump out any minute now, and my hands were shaking badly as I gripped the steering tighter.
It couldn’t be.
Eric would never do something like that to me. Not after everything I sacrificed for him. But the video was still sitting completely still on my phone, my husband’s arm around a strange woman.
Unmistakable.
The message had been short, precise: Come to Luxmen hotel immediately and see for yourself.
I had been getting such messages for weeks now, from an anonymous source, all crafted to paint my loving husband as nothing but a shameless cheat. I always ignored it and deleted every one because I completely trusted Eric and would never believe any ill talk about him.
Except tonight, there was evidence, and it had looked too real to be photoshopped. I didn’t want to believe it.
Eric loved me. He would never.
Not after I gave him everything. My trust, my company, my family’s legacy, my entire future.
He wouldn’t.
Whoever was slandering my husband was surely going to pay if it turned out they were wrong, and I was being misled. The car seemed to be flying on the air, and it didn’t take long for me to reach the five-star hotel.
I jumped out of the car and practically sprinted into the building.
I stopped in front of the reception desk and tapped hastily on it. The receptionist was a tall, lanky young guy with glasses perched on his nose.
He lifted his head up and slowly ran his eyes over my face, questioningly. Probably wondering what the trophy wife of billionaire businessman Eric Breeze was doing, looking restless and desperate in front of him.
“How may I help you, ma’am?”
I still remembered the room that accompanied the text and I didn’t waste time in asking for it.
“Room 209, I’m here for my husband,” I said breathlessly.
The receptionist turned to his computer, typing for a few agonizing seconds before looking back up.
“Ah, yes. Mr Breeze is currently occupying room 209, but it doesn’t say here that he’s expecting a visitor. His status says he’s actually quite busy right now.”
I bit the inside of my cheek till it stung.
I hated to do this, but desperate times called for desperate measures and I needed to make sure my husband was really just busy with work, or else I would run mad any minute now.
“I am his wife,” I said, forcing my voice to sound firm. “And Eric called me here himself. You can call his suite to confirm.”
I didn’t know why I said that last part, maybe to sound more convincing.
What were the chances he would actually call?
The receptionist gave me another curious look, his eyes narrowing like he didn’t quite believe me before he drew back and nodded.
“If you say so,”
To my utmost dismay, he picked up the landline phone on his desk and my breath hitched. “I’ll confirm from Mr Breeze. Give me a minute.”
I nodded, holding my breath as I watched him closely.
Oh, dear!
This could go really badly and blow up in my face if Eric picked up that call and denied sending for me. I would look like a crazy, insecure wife stalking her husband.
And if Eric did come to realize why I lied, he would be so devastated that I couldn’t even have faith in him.
I opened my mouth to tell the receptionist to forget it, but before I could speak, he set the receiver back down himself.
“That’s weird, he isn’t answering. I suppose it’s fine for you to go up. Here,”
He handed me the key card for the room and I took it with a rushed ‘thank you’, then bolted down the hallway leading to the elevator.
The hotel was a long-term corporate partner of our company and since it wasn’t very far, Eric usually frequented the place whenever he was too busy to come home.
I reached room 209. My fingers trembled as I swiped the key card in place. The door clicked open, and I was met with silence.
“Eric?” I called out slowly, walking in.
Nothing. Just more silence.
Where was he?
I stepped deeper into the suite and nearly stumbled when my feet caught something carelessly placed on the ground near the kitchen island. I looked down to see it was a plain, brown takeaway bag crumbled on the floor.
Since when did Eric eat takeaway?
Especially while staying at a luxury hotel with five-star room service?
I bent down to pick it up and everything became even more confusing because it didn’t look like something from a food brand.
It didn’t have a commercial logo.
It looked… homemade.
That was when my eyes caught the dining table. Two glasses, and two plates with leftover food in them.
My breath caught and I took another step. A woman’s handbag sat near the sofa. My stomach twisted, but I kept walking.
Then I heard it,
