Trapped Butterfly

Chapter 7

Alexa is so ecstatic upon hearing and confirming that Andrei will invest in Bango Co. Yet, she does her best to refrain herself from embracing him. Maintaining a professional stance, she shakes his hand and says, "In that case, thank you for choosing our company. Let's go to the office to discuss your investment terms." "Okay."

Inside the manager's office, Alexa sits on the chair behind the desk and Andrei sits across her. Alexa calls the company secretary to take note of their meeting and she also requests for two cups of coffee and two slices of cake for her and Andrei. The secretary motions her hand so that these requests be granted. As soon as the person that the secretary ordered leaves the room, Andrei and Alexa start discuasing business.

"Okay, so Andrei, let's get straight to business. How much will you invest and what do you expect to get in return?"

"Hmm, very straightforward. I like that. You're feisty and you'll make a good businesswoman. I'm willing to invest a million for your company. In return, hmm..." Andrei replies and smiles mischievously.

"A million pesos? That's okay. Be serious, though. What do you expect? Or how much do you hope to get in return."

"Nah, I meant a million dollars. And in return, I want at least 10% of the total monthly sales and you will be the supplier of my other companies."

"Whoa, seriously, dollars? Are you kidding? If you'll shell out that amount of money, I'll grant you 20% of monthly sales and we will gladly be your supplier."

"Okay. It's settled then. May we enjoy doing business together," Andrei says with finality and he shakes Alexa's hand firmly. The agreements have been written down by the secretary and she asks them to sign. Alexa signs the notes first then she gives it to Andrei.

While Andrei is signing the agreement notes, the person that the secretary asked to make coffees and buy cakes from the cafe (with company money, of course) comes inside the room and gently places the food tray on the adjacent table. Andrei finishes signing the notes and hands it back to the secretary.

Alexa smiles, calls the lady to say thanks, and offers food to Andrei. The secretary has already left after receiving the notes back. She has to carefully file the agreement notes.

After eating his share, Andrei bids farewell. He knows that Alexa still has a lot of things to do and he also has to take care of his business. He goes to the company lobby and asks the chauffeur to fetch him.
