Chapter 3

'You're welcome Alexandra. And happy birthday' I say to the most stunning woman I have ever seen. She disappears back into the bar and I let out a breath.

'Dan. What the hell are you doing out here' Dom my beta says to me.

'I followed her scent. She was out here. A wolf was about to attack her. I see her flip him over her. He was about to attack her again but I intervened. He must be from a pack because he knew I was The King'

'OK your highness. But why are you here alone' Dom says with sarcasm.

I smile. Dom is one of the few who treats me like a friend. I have known him for years. He is like my brother. Respects me when he needs to but puts me line when I also need that.

'I kissed her. I couldn't help myself. She was just so beautiful and her scent. But Dom I don't think she knows she is a wolf' I tell him.

He looks confused and doesn't know what to say.

'I could see her wolf trying to come forward but something kept pushing it back. She didn't say mate when I did' I let out a sigh. I have been searching for her for 7 years and she doesn't even know what she is.

'I don't know man. She looked scared when she run from the bar earlier' he says.

I walked into a random bar in London. I was here for business. Its not often I venture into a human towns but today was a must. As I walked in Midnight alerted me with his excitement. A smell consumed me. Honey and tea filled me and hit me. I knew what it was. I followed the scent to the bar. There was a woman with her back to me, long blonde hair fell down her back in waves. Half of it pulled back into a bow. She was in the middle of mixing a drink. I watched as she froze and stopped what she was doing. Someone came up to her and grabbed her arm and asked her if she was ok. She managed to snap out of what ever was causing her pain? Fear? I couldn't tell. She turned and looked directly in my eyes and could have sworn that one of her eyes turned purple! She grabbed her friend and ran out the back. She ran from me. My mate.

'Earth to Dan' Dom was saying and waving at me.

I snapped out of my memory and was bought back to reality here in the alley.

'We must find out everything about her. She said her name is Alexandra. Lex for short'

'Of course man. Her name was on one them boards. Apparently her nickname is the Witch of Cocktails' he laughed back at me.

Well I feel bewitched by her already. The mate bond was more consuming than I thought. I want to go to her.

'Go to her then' Midnight my wolf growled at me.

'We can't M. If she doesn't know that she is a wolf. We will scare her'

He scoffs but goes back blocking me from him.

'OK let's go back to the hotel and think' I say to Dom.

After getting to the hotel, I make a few calls and get two of my best trackers to come to London, I tell them her first name and where she works. I explain the situation and even they are shocked. I tell them I want her to be followed and protected, I need to know her but I will go slow if she really doesn't know she is a wolf I need to find out how. This has never happened as far as I am aware. She definitely has a wolf in there. I will find out about her. I will see her again before I leave London. I will take her with me one day.

She will be Queen after all.

The last week have been an absolute blur. After my fainting spell, the attack and that man. Dan. I wonder if its short for Daniel or something. He kissed me and I have never felt anything like it. It was all consuming. The sparks between us were magnificent. I can’t help but want to see him again.

'He is mate. That's why' Lilac says to me angrily.

I really need Dr Montgomery to help me. I am currently sitting in her waiting room for my therapy session since the incident.

'Alexandra you can come in now' Dr Montgomery calls me in.

I take a seat in my usual space on the sofa and look around. Dr Montogmerys office is very calming. I take several breaths.

'I wasn't expecting to see you so soon Lex. You're not due for another week or so'

'Yeah Dr ive really been struggling lately. The tablets seems to be failing. I feel so dossapointed. They were working so well but this past week something seems to be off'

'Anything happened in your life, a change or some sort' she asks.

'No. Not that I can think' I respond quickly. I was not telling her about my birthday it was weird and to be honest I didn't know how to fully explain it all.

'Hmm' she says whilst writing.

'OK well. I could try another dosage system to see if it helps. We were increasing regardless but we could start it earlier. Have you taken your tablets today?'

'No not yet. I take them between 12pm and 1.30pm everyday cos of working nights I find it easier'

'That's good. You can take the new dosage from today when you get home. I will get them ready for you when you leave. I want to talk more about the diagnosis we settled on last time. I know you've had previous therapist spout countless jargon to you over the years. You've been with me roughly a year now. How do you feel within yourself. Past the current week' she speaks.

'Well besides this week. Everything was working. I know we spoke of split personality and that. I dont know. I've read up about it but the voice never takes over. Well not that I know if she has'

'Ah you wouldn't exactly know. But you'd have missing time. But having this disorder doesn't nessecerally mean the other personality will take over. It could just be a subconscious one' she goes on.

'Oh. Well it could be. I just don't understand why it litterally started to happen on my 14th birthday'

'That I can no answer Lex. But I can help you. Your repressed memories may also be involved but unfortunately we have been unsuccessful in getting any to the surface during hypnotherapy'

'I know. Just sometimes I feel like it's trying to tell me something' I mumble.

'Possibly Lex. But we need to protect you and your mind. The tablets are there to keep you safe'

I just smile in response. The tablets do help. Hopefully the newer dose will help even more.

Dr Montgomery goes to her side cupboard and brings out a box of pills. Same as usual just the higher dose. Dr Montgomery isn't expensive for a therapist and all her medication is included which is a bonus because I would not be able to afford all this on prescription every month.

We spend the next 20 minutes discussing work. She tells me like always to keep my journals of my dreams and the things the voice says when it does become active.

'Well Lex. Unfortunately that's it for today. You have the new dose. Don't forget to substitute these for your current course from today. I will book you in for 3 week from now to give them a chance to settle'

I thank her and leave the office.

I was too busy putting the tablets into my bag and searching for my phone that I was not looking as I walked out of the building. I ran straight into someone.

I go to apologise and his scent hits me. I look up and straight into the eyes of, him.
