CHAPTER FIVE

Anna immediately began to plead with Darian to forgive her for feeding him spicy food. She was sure she couldn't survive another plate of peppers. After watching her beg him for a couple of minutes, he finally let it go.
In his room, after Anna went back to hers, Darian couldn't stop thinking about his actions. His intention was to treat Anna as badly as possible, making sure she pays for her father's sins but instead, he kept on getting softer and softer towards her.
He wanted to use her as his f**k toy but since he discovered that she was a virgin, he lost the intensions to do so. He was mad at himself.
He was still in deep thought when the door to his room opened and his personal assistant, Jake, entered. He was carrying some files which he placed on the desk in front of Darian.
"Good day sir. Here are all the files you asked for." Jake said, arranging his suit.
"That's good. Have you sorted them out? I don't need that stress right now." Darian questioned.
"All done sir. Now, is there a reason why you didn't show up at work this morning?" Jake asked.
Apart from being Darian's personal assistant, Jake was also his closest friend and the only one Darian shared his deepest secrets to. They were so close that people thought they were brothers.
"There was a.. problem." Darian answered, loosening up. He was always free whenever Jake was around.
"What problem?" Jake sat down.
"Do you remember Samson Grey?"
"The bastard that ran away with your money, yes."
"Well I got my price, his daughter that he placed as collateral." Darian smirked.
"Really? She's here now!?" Jake was surprised. Darian usually told him every single step he took so why didn't he inform him about this?
"You didn't tell me."
"I didn't have the time to, don't be upset. Well she collapsed this morning.." Darian started and told Jake everything that happened.
"Man.." Jake sighed and shook his head.
"How long do you intend to keep her then? You can't f**k her, what's her use then?" Jake questioned.
"I don't know but I'm not letting her go. I have a strong feeling that her father will come back for her. When he does, I will get hold of him and then release her." Darian answered but Jake scoffed.
"If he gave his daughter as collateral, what makes you think he'll come back for her? He's really not worthy to be anyone's dad. And now this poor girl is suffering because of her father's deeds." Jake was genuinely sad for Anna. She didn't deserve to suffer at all.
"What are you doing? Don't tell me you're being sympathetic towards her, she's my enemy's daughter and therefore, my enemy." Darian seethed.
"I'm sorry boss." Jake said and decided to change the topic. He knew how easily Darian could lose his temper and he didn't want that to happen.
"Please go through the files and give me feedback. I need to run a background check on the company that wants to partner with us for the Christmas production." Jake explained, switching to work mode very quickly. Darian sighed and opened one of the files.
"Make sure to get me intell concerning the land in Boston." He instructed.
"Of course sir. I think I should be on my way. I'm overseeing the office as you're not around." Jake smiled. He took a bow and left Darian's room.
As he made his way down the hall to the staircase, he noticed a small figure coming out from the room at the end of the hall. He waited patiently, trying to see who it was that was limping towards him. He finally got a glimpse of her face as soon as she stepped into the light.
Jake was blown away by her beauty. Despite her bruises and swollen face, her beauty was ravishing. Jake immediately knew who it was.
"Anna." He called.
"Are you Darian's guard? I'm sorry for coming out of my room, I'm just starving, please don't tell him." Anna quickly got on her knees and began to cry and Jake felt bad for her. Darian must have traumatized her.
"Get up please, I won't tell, I promise." He took her arm and helped her up.
"I'm Jake, his personal assistant. Not his bodyguard." He added and Anna stared at him, lost in his cute eyes.
Jake was quite good looking, he had a nerdy smile but that made him even cuter.
"Thank you. I should go before he catches me." Anna said and rushed out.
Jake shook his head, Anna looked innocent to him, she really didn't deserve what Darian was doing to her but he knew he couldn't change his boss's mind. He left for the office immediately.
Anna quickly got herself some food and started eating in a rush. She wanted to eat as fast as she could before Darian or any of his guards would come downstairs and catch her. Danielle helped her keep watch until she was done.
"Thanks Danielle, I have to go upstairs now." Anna said, wiping her lips with the back of her palm.
"You're welcome. Hurry up now." Danielle hugged her and Anna hurriedly went upstairs.
She was left in shock when she ran into Darian on his way downstairs. She went pale with shock as her feet suddenly became glued to the ground.
"Where are you coming from? Why do you smell like tomatoes?" Darian asked after glaring at her for a few seconds. Anna was speechless.
"Did you.. eat something?"
"I'm sorry sir!" Anna burst out crying.
"You think you can do whatever you want? Do you take me as a joke!?" Darian flared up and grabbed her wrist roughly. Anna started to scream for help as he dragged her into his room. No one could say anything to save her, the maids just watched her being dragged away.
Darian shut the door and threw her inside, she landed roughly on the cold floor, tears streaming down her cheeks.
"Now, I will teach you never to go against me." He smirked and approached her as she moved away from him. He caught her and tore off her clothes, leaving her nude.
"Please! Please, I'm sorry! I'm sorry!" Anna cried bitterly, trying to fight him off but he picked her up and threw her on the bed effortlessly. She groaned and yelped out in pain.
Darian was about to take his pants off when she tried slipping out but he held her hand tightly. She tried to fight him off but instead, his hand slipped and he fell forward, his lips landing directly on hers.
Their eyes widened in shock.
