JADEN "Dad?! I cannot believe you right now" I spoke disdainfully to my father, I was enraged and infuriated by his usual action of ruining things for me. "Jaden, calm down. I am only doing this for your benefit" He responded calmly whilst turning his office seat to glare at the perplexity written all over me. "My benefit?! Dad you ended a business deal worth four million dollars and you want me to calm down? You know how hard I worked for this but you had to throw it down the drain like it was nothing" I shot back at him. "It is nothing! Compared to what we have, compared to what you have it is nothing. Stop chasing after things that are already at your service, you have no wife, no kids and you are already thirty one. What is the use of all the money" Father began with his usual taunts about my love life. This really has to stop, I cannot keep working hard to maintain 'The West' and my father comes into every business deal of mine and closes it because he feels I should use my time to get a wife. I do not need a wife, what is the use of a woman to me right now? I do not have the time to cater for kids and a family, I have to build my legacy first. This obsession with me getting a wife has to stop, yes I am worth more than a million dollars but having much more would be a stepping stone to building an unforgettable legacy in this country. "Dad please stop closing my deals, when the time is right, I will get a wife" I said angrily before attempting to walk out of his office. "I have waited long enough, I do not want to grow old and die before you provide a heir, I need a grandson, a child to carry our name, you cannot keep working for a legacy and have no one to maintain it when you die, as from today you will be relieved of your duties as manager of the west until you find a decent woman and give me an heir, until then do not step foot into this company. I will handle all the affairs so you can leave" He said to my surprise. I was stunned and dumbfounded. What the hell just happened? "I do not understand you, are you firing me because I do not have a wife? Are you really doing this?!" I questioned in disbelief. "If you put it that way then yes, you are fired. Once you get your wife and child you can come in and take full control of the west" He said whilst handing over an envelope. I took the envelope and saw the words 'Letter of resignation' written on it. Damn! He was serious. "f**k!" I exclaimed angrily before walking out and slamming his office door behind me. I knew my father was stubborn and wicked but I never knew that he could go to this extent just so he could quickly have grand children. Now I will really have to get a wife, how can I be jobless? I can not just let this slide, I will have to speak to mother about this. Surely, she would talk sense into her husband, I already promised to get a wife but I am not ready, what is the rush? I hid the resignation letter inside my pocket and walked briskly towards the main entrance of the west's building. Why can't he accept my decision not to marry at this point in time? Must he make my life a living hell first? The butterfly doors to my Lamborghini opened up as I stepped out of the glass edifice that made up the west office. Godamnit I can't believe I got fired from my own company, what would my bitches think of me? Stepping into my luxury filled black lambo, I closed up the butterfly doors and picked up my phone to call mother. I dialed her number and patiently waited for her to answer the call. "Mom you won't believe what happened today?" I said the minute she picked up. "What's wrong Jaden?" She inquired, her voice laced with concern. "It's Dad, he just.... Ah f**k, i will explain when I am home" I ended the call and ignited the engine, the vibration from the engine sent it's frequency across my body. ****** I halted at the mansion gates and watched it open up like a flower, I maneuvered the steering and drove into the interlocked path that seperated the rose garden that was seated at the very entrance of the mansion. I drove further in and passed the breathtaking fountain of a horse decorated with carved patterns of boarders around the fountain. It was seated at the middle of the mansion's vicinity. Two huge pillars held the white mansion, the walls were made of a glittering and expensive stones that makes the whole mansion look pristine. I stepped down from my car and walked up to the building, letting it's shadow tower over me, I opened up the double doors and walked into the house to meet mother. She was dressed in a black classy night gown and she had her diamond earrings dangling on her ear. "Mom! You really need to speak to dad, how can he possibly do this to me?" I angrily exclaimed. "What did he do hunny?" A quizzical look sat on her face. "Just look at this f*****g s**t!" I pulled up the resignation letter and threw it on the table. She picked it up and carefully read through every written text on it. "Your father did this?" Her tone suddenly changed. "Yes! What the f**k is his problem? Why did he have to go this far?" I fumed in anger. "Why did he do this?" She asked. "C'mon mom, you know the reason, it is the usual. I just do not see the reason why he went this far!" "Jaden, I don't disagree with your father, yes he went far but he has a point" She calmly stated. "Oh God! Not you too!" I scowled at her and yelled out in frustration. "You know it is the truth Jaden, you are literally thirty one, you need to get a woman for yourself, you are not getting any younger and we are not either" She voiced out. "I already have a woman mum, it's just...." I pause. "What woman? That w***e you keep f*****g? When we say get a wife, we do not mean a cheap w***e" She spat repulsively. "Mom, she is not a w***e" I retorted back at her. "Whatever she is, do not bring her here, bring a decent girl into this house or else I will find one for you and you will marry her whether she is your type of woman or not" Mother shot back at me before walking out of the room.
