She assured her that she'd be home on the first and that everything would go back to normal. She still hadn't spoken with Peyton, and she began to grow more worried since Clare informed her that Peyton quit her job at the diner. Plus, she hadn't physically seen her niece in some time either. Clare said she'd go over to the house to check on her, and, on December 30, Clare pulled into the long driveway that appeared somewhat deserted on that bleak day.
