Chapter Six-2

847 Words

JACK STOOD IN THE SHADOWS at the rear of the King’s Hall, watching as Asward was brought before King Walsias. Cabal stood beside the king’s throne, an ominous stature of elfin fury. Even from this distance, Jack could see the anger burning in Cabal’s eyes. He hadn’t shown such fury since their first battle in the Cave of Sorrows, when he and Cabal were pitted against each other in a fight to the death. Jack shook his head. That wizard has no idea what he’s done. King Walsias’ face was a deep crimson. His eyes bulged with anger. He gripped the arms of his throne in rage as the wizard stopped before him. “Asward!” he snarled, “tell me what you have done with Prince Cabal’s companions and do it with haste. For if they come to any harm, no sense of mercy will stop me from ending your life.”
