CHAPTER 1: A JOURNEY STARTED
"Ryn make sure you don't forget anything."
shouted Mrs. Will from the corridor, " I hope
you have placed everything you need in the
suitcase." she added. "Yes mom!" I replied
as I slopped down from my bedroom.
It was the start of the first term of the year
and I had made it to high school. All the
expectations I had and the stories I had
heard about high school were finally turning
into a reality. The excitement I had at the
moment was beyond what I could fathom. I
was going to boarding school so I made
sure I had everything that was necessary.
We soon left home and after about an hour
of driving, we reached our destination, Sky
High School. The school stood quietly at the
end of the street, its pale walls warmed by
the afternoon sun. Inside, the corridors
echoed with laughter and hurried footsteps,
the sound bouncing off lockers scarred with
years of careless hands. Classrooms
smelled faintly of chalk and old books, and
sunlight poured through tall windows,
settling on desks like something gentle and
forgiving. Outside, the courtyard buzzed
with life—voices overlapping, uniforms
brushing past one another, the bell slicing
through it all with practiced authority.
We slowly made our way to the Principal's
office.
The principal sat imposingly behind his
desk, his expression stern and unreadable.
His crisp suit and silver-frimmed glasses
added to the air of authority, making the
office feel formal and a bit intimidating.
He welcomed us and assigned me to Form
1, Elite. I was then shown to the dormitories
and life at high school officially begun.
